A lot of these guys complaining about the lack of matches are competing in the senior/master/executive divisions.zIf you want more matches, just compete in the regular division where there are usually multiple opponents.Especially when you do the Open.Recently I talked to a lightweight purple who was complaining about the lack of opponents. This dude said he traveled all over the US for different opponents.I asked him about a few dudes I knew that was his belt level and weight and he didn't know them.Turns out dude does the senior division. If its a lack of opponents you are worried about, just do the regular division.

Politics
Simply put yes
I like to compete but typically involves turning up into crowded, humid and stinking hall
waiting around for large periods of time, with no chance to warm up
fighting at about 15-50% of your potential
going home
Competitions can be fun and rewarding but also costly and time consuming.
