Condit/Diaz and Maynard/Guida decisions

CLINTK9 -
Chimonos Revenge - Clint's favorite fighter is Tank Abbot.

There is no point in arguing with him about this guys.

its Royce tardo! of all time anyway. currently, Cain or Reem!

sorry you guys ran away from fights as kids and probably adults as well and think thats how you win a fight!

Hah, my bad.

Pretty sure i thought i saw you post a day or so ago that Tank was your favorite fighter.

My point being, is that your seem to favor the brawlers.

Protip: If someone keeps coming after you and you keep avoiding it successfully, you didn't win a fight.

You got away, bitch.

Masakyst - Friend, polls done on THIS VERY FORUM have shown that the majority believe Condit was the rightful winner. You're part of the very vocal minority.

Not right after this fight happened. People don't sit on these forums everyday to vote on some stupidass poll about a fight that happened months ago.

That doesn't even make any sense. Maybe less people would participate in the poll, but the results still show that the majority believed condit won. More participants wouldn't change that. Law of averages, son.

Averages don't work that way, did you fail math in high school?

AFAN - Who else is seeing a parallel between the Condit/Diaz match and this fight, only with opposite results. Can someone explain the difference in scoring to me PLEASE!!

 1. Don't be a complete fucking idiot.
2. Condit OUTSTRUCK diaz.
3. Gray OUTSTRUCK guida

See how that works?
When a fight stays on the feet the guy landing more wins.
Its very simple really.

whoa...easy with the logic, brotha! that kind of thing doesn't go over very well around these parts

Hmmm, I just bet we can find some examples of fights where the guy who landed more strikes did not win.

lol, yes that is exactly how the law of averages work in polling. If 55% of 1000 people believed condit won, 55% of 100,000 people believed condit won. Adding more bodies to the poll doesn't make Diaz's number raise but not Condit's. Are you sure YOU didn't fail math?

Averages do not represent single cases, hence the reason it is called an AVERAGE.

Whats with the name calling. Condit is a killer who decided to avoid confrontation and fight for points in a title fight (not the LEAST bit entertaining). Flat footed kicks to the knee aren't significant strikes, nor is avoiding confrontation winning a fight, regardless of the outcome. Watching that fight 1 person was trying to finish and 1 person was trying not to be finished yet throw more strikes. Yes he won but my level of respect and fandom for him has decreased. Every fight prior he attempted to finish (and more often than not he did) and if you think the occasional weak flying knee is an attempt to finish then you are drinking the cool aid. He didn't throw one left hook like the one that flattened Hardy and the knees were nothing like the one that finished DH Kim. I would have been happy he won if he actually fought like he is known for. That is probably what most people are pissed about, not that he won but HOW he won (especially with a moniker like the natural born killer). Everyone gets heated when it comes to decisions and their fav fighters but i am tired of the needless name calling. You don't know me, and don't confuse passion with idiocy.

CLASSIC....best post in this thread!

Enough already! Diaz throws little baby punches. I get it Diaz don't give fuk yea 209 whatever. Look at Diaz's face after the fight and then Carlos'. Carlos landed more strikes. He didn't let Diaz back him into the cage and pillow fist him. If Diaz won why was he more messed up after the fight?? Phone Post

The funniest part of these threads is how the diaz fans try to bash condit and it just makes diaz look even worse. Diaz had no ability to cut off the cage and engage in his gameplan. Also, condit was clearly TRYing to ko Nick, Nick just has a tough chin. But no, let's just bash Carlos for being smart and praise Nick diaz for being tough, even though he got his face messed up by a point fighter (in the words of diaz fans) Phone Post

I gave diaz a very close decision over condit, thought gray clearly beat guida.

Condit was way more active btw Phone Post

Condit had a plan, he stuck to it, he did it well. It's the judging I have a problem with. Those leg kicks shouldn't have won him the fight.

You could argue condit had more cage control too, he was leading nick all over. The judges don't look at fightmetric scores, they score it as it happens. I think condit/diaz was a closer fight, but the judges got it right both times. Phone Post

Using your logic, explain how dirty sanchez won against Kampmann

Kampmann vs Sanchez is also a similar fight, and almost everyone thought it was a terrible decision.
that fight was scored incorrectly and there was lots of outrage at the time.
if you think kampmann won, how do you think diaz won?

For what it's worth I had grey winning by a more narrow margin then nick did. Phone Post

If you think this was ANYTHING like the condit or guida performances you are totally brain dead. Kampmann whooped that ass Phone Post

What???? He had more cage control by running away? My god tho board is deteriorating. Just retarded Phone Post

"condit was clearly TRYing to ko Nick" just wanted to post this before he saw how stupid it was and edited it. Phone Post

nick wasnt cutting him off or cornering him, so condit was dictating where the fight went.

the damage was different, but it was still: fighter A moving backwards outstriking fight B who was moving forward getting hit and unable to corner fighter A
