class is usually warmup > technique > rolling (5 min rounds usually).
would it be more beneficial to improve cardio to hang around after class and roll more, or do pushups/situps or do both? for awhile now i've been able to do 50 pushups, 50 situps in as few sets possible relatively easily until the end.
looking to start competing in tourneys (white belt) and dont want to gas
sup MBN, Id say if its cardio youd be better off just rolling more after class.
herro.
thats what i figured.
getting my ass to og'er pta's 615 am conditioning classes on mwf would be a good idea too.
if you cant make that class run sprint intervals on your own time. Works great for BJJ/wrestling.
Perfect conditioning for BJJ?
BJJ :)
Roll more, get the mileage in and you'll see the difference (and more importantly FEEL the difference)
2 more roll sessions post class. i feel invincible!
ok not really, i'll aim for 3-5
If you don't have knee issues, jump rope after class.
Build up to a straight 30 minutes by doing three intervals of 10 minutes with a minute rest between.
Get a timer that gives you a minute warning and "sprint" as much as you can the last minute.
My gas tank went through the roof doing this after class (3 times a week). I also noticed I was less sore (flushing lactic acid out). It sucks at first though, especially after some hard extended rolling.
Don't cheap out - get a nice heavy vinyl or leather jump rope. The vinyl's good but will shred on concrete.
