Congress makes Juneteenth an official holiday!

(CNN)“The House passed legislation Wednesday that would establish June 19 as Juneteenth National Independence Day, a US federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, sending the bill to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature.”

The company I work for is a racist bigot if they don’t give me off to celebrate white people putting an end to slavery! We did a pretty good thing my dudes! We didn’t start the fire, but we were the first ones to to put it out! Celebrate!

Looking forward to the “independence” part.

Sue them for their racist white power’d ways!

Good. It’s a thing worth celebrating.

Our company has a few events scheduled, speakers and the such, for this Friday and they encouraged all of us to clear our meetings and attend. Perhaps next year a day off?

How do we celebrate this holiday?

Do you drive south and talk to people about their freedom? Do you pay for the next person in line at McDonald’s on your way home from work?

I hope, I’ve been slaving away at work so long I don’t remember my last day off. A paid day off from working would be nice!

Ha, slaving away.

Can we change the name?

LOL. Why are Democrats celebrating the end of slavery? The Republicans/GOP pushed their shit in to stop the Democrat party’s support for slavery.

They also love it when you point out that it was White Republicans that ended slavery.

Do the Juneteenth challenge where you ask every one in your social media network to repost their 2019 juneteenth posts for $20 bucks. The results will shock you

Seriously though, how do you celebrate it?

Re enactments are probably out of the question

How do we do this? Are sparklers involved?

Same as the US independence and the same as honoring soldiers who died fighting for freedom… so I assume hot dogs, and over indulging on alcohol. Duh
