i don't like conor, i root for nate but I could see conor beating diaz. Watching the first fight, conor did throw a shit ton of power shots like the whole time. That's gotta gas you. He was beating nate to the punch every time. If conor can just tone it down a little bit and conserve energy i think he could win a decision. It will all come down to how good is diaz gonna be with a full camp. If I was in diaz's corner, I'd tell him to bite down on his mouth piece and pressure the shit out of him because when he was boxing with conor he was getting lit up, as soon as he said fuck it and put pressure on conor broke.
basically if you have a gas tank for days, YOU need to dictate the pace
Basically, from what you wrote, if you were in Diaz' corner you would tell him to fight as usual.
Conor fought as he typically does. Problem is, he relies on people going to sleep when he hits them. Diaz didn't, and that seemed to cause some panic.
More Weidman spinning kicks.
I wouldn't say conor fought like he typically does. I've seen him throw a lot more body shots and different combinations in the past. He was basically winging that left hand over and over against Nate. A few wheel kicks mixed in but not much else. I think it was a mixture of overconfidence in his power and a lack of training against another long southpaw. I think he's skilled enough to fix the mistakes and do much better in a rematch.

By typical I was referring to his focus on getting a KO. That's not a good strategy against someone with a chin like Diaz.
I like both and was conor nuthugger. But in the build up to that fight i was rooting for nate.
Conor can defiantly beat nate and i expect him to pace himself this time. But i will be betting on nate with a full camp he will be more dangerous for mcgregor and i think he can take what mcgregor has to offer.
I want to be another good fight and in very intrested if conor gets hurt/gassed if he will shoot on nate again. Im super excited about this fight but i feel terrible for frankie
Conor only has a puncher's chance at beating Diaz
Styles make fights and Conor doesn't have the wrestling or BJJ to challenge Diaz in those areas
Conor HAS to KO him quick or the same result will repeat
Also Conor has to be careful himself and not get KO'd too, it's like people tend to forget Conor didn't necessarily gas, he got rocked.
The video and gif show it clearly that Diaz's one to two put Conor on queer street, leading to Conor going for the takedown to avoid the KO
Conor needs to KO him while avoiding getting KO'd himself which is extremely difficult against someone taller and with a longer reach, especially this is a fucking Diaz we're talking about
Conor is a great fighter no doubt and anything can happen in MMA, but the first fight wasn't even close as he couldn't last three rounds in there against Nate
Hence why this rematch is a waste of time, should happen later than sooner
No it's not. Not so early in the fight anyway. I think if he shows more patience, mixes in leg kicks and body shots, he can beat Diaz. By decision or possibly a late tko if he breaks him down enough. Even though conor lost he tagged Diaz and busted him up a lot in that first round. He's definitely got the skill to beat him on the feet, he just needs a smarter approach imo.
Conor just needs to mix in more body shots and leg kicks.
Punchers chance? Obviously to me, that turned out to be the case for the first fight.
Conor has the boxing and movement to McMayweather his way to a win. He can, and should beat Nate.
Conor was arrogant and spammed the left and the uppercut, thinking Nate would go to sleep. Nate weathered the storm, landed a couple of bombs of his own, and had Conor looking like it was his first day in BJJ class.
Nate has decent judo takedowns. I don't think wrestling will matter much Conor was effectively able to muscle or slip out of clinches, and Nate isn't shooting dubs.
Is the fight even confirmed yet? I think it's a horrible idea for McGregor.
For Conor to have a good chance to win, he would need to change the strategy that got him to the top.
In particular and against a Diaz, considering they are better than anyone at drawing their opponent into their game, Conor has his work set out for him.
ZombieFaceMonky - More Weidman spinning kicks.Oh so we're throwing spinning shit now?

What would it take for Diaz to suck up his pride and take Conor down? His Stand'n'Wang is good, but he has a major advantage on the ground.
If Conor beats Diaz he really is the man on top of the world.. IMO beating Diaz would really show how good he is.
I watched the fight for about the 5th time again yesterday. Nate's 1-2 that stunned Conor wasn't the game-changer that I thought it was at first, it was actually a knee to the bread basket that Nate caught him with while they were against the cage at around the 3:50-3:30 min mark of the 2nd round.
After that point, you can see Conor's punches lacking power and you can also see Diaz notice it too. Conor tries his best to keep trading but the power and pop is gone from his punches.
Just like the 1st fight, they both have ways of winning the fight and it's not an easy fight for either of them. I really don't know why it shouldn't be at 155 though.
At the highest level any of these fighters can win or lose. But I do feel that Diaz wins this fight 6 times out of 10.
colubrid1 - If Conor beats Diaz he really is the man on top of the world.. IMO beating Diaz would really show how good he is.It's crazy how people were dismissing Nate's chances before the 1st fight. I thought a win against even a short notice, out of shape Nate would be a huge win for Conor but the vast majority of people on here didn't agree and thought it'd be an easy win for Conor.
Now it's the other way around. Now Nate will win easily and Conor doesn't stand a chance! At least MMA fans are consistent with their fickleness.

Conor's best chance at a decision is in a 3 round fight, 5 rounder is all Diaz

Outside of Las Vegas oddsmakers, Conor's chances in the rematch are being dismissed just as badly.
People seem to forget about Conor's x-guard sweep in the first round.
He was finished on the feet. The end of the fight does not reflect his BJJ. He was done once that left caught him on the chin
