For the FIRST time in 23 years I had the thought... that's exactly how an MMA fight (it wasn't always MMA to be exact) would look if it was fixed. That's how well executed the fight was. The veteran bailed on his gameplan from the get-go and stood toe-to-toe with the best standup fighter since Jon Jones. I can't stand him but lord liftin' Conor looked slick Saturday. He's improved so much in a year!

Conor had a 5 inch reach advantage and kept his distance. Eddie was rarely within range to shoot on Conor. Length is important in MMA for strikers. Eddie had to play the striking game by default and he lost.
It's the extreme end of conspiracy theorist to think it was fixed. If your point was how spectacular and improved Conor looks, and end it there, then right on homie
Maybe it was fixed.
Wouldnt put it past wmg and ari. Build conor up. If eddie won nobody wins
Eddie would have gotten a nice payout.
Makes me think of the shit talk at the beggining about taking his original contract money.
Shits SCRIPTED
I don't really think it was a fixed fight but Conor controlled the fight so well that the thought actually popped in my head for a few moments. I doubted the guy big time after the first Nate fight but you can tell he's been putting in the work since then. I respect his attitude and his willingness to accept a challenge. This is coming from a guy that laughed and wrote him off as exposed when Nate RNC'd him. Props to Conor. He's inspired me to get back to the mats and work toward some goals.
If you think a fight like that where dude gets dropped like 5 fucking times hard is fixed your obviously are retarded and have never been hit in your life...and probably should be hit.
If you are gonna throw a fight you go give up a choke not exchange and get the shit beat out of you and get up time after time.
Why would Eddie throw the fight? He gains nothing from building up Conor's career. I personally think he underestimated Conor's power and paid the price. Should tell how much of a beast Nate's chin is considering.

Conor choke Eddie? That would be a dead giveaway. Read the post.

$$$$$$$$$$$. Once again, I don't think he did.
very disrespectful to Eddie to even suggest the fight was fixed
Yeah, fuck this. I honestly don't think a fight has ever been genuinely fixed by the UFC.
Pride, yes. Strikeforce, probably. Bellator, yeah, probably.
I think the UFC has been fairly forthright in genuine competition.
Only a lunatic would have to resort to these sort of mental gymnastics as a coping mechanism.
"It was all fake!!!"
Listen to yourselves.
The OP isn't saying he thought it was fixed. He's complementing Conor by saying that he dominated to a level that made the fight look scripted. He made Eddie look like a guy that was throwing a fight.
Pre weird way to say that conor looked so good it had to be fake lol.
I doubt eddie would allow himself to be punched as hard as he was in the chin and head repeatedly

This. VU for reading comprehension.
LOL at Jon Jones.
Since Jones.....
Conor is a way way better striker than Jones, don't be silly.
Eddie stood with Conor for the same reason Tito stood with Chuck, the takedowns weren't available.
They even look back and say I shouldn't have stood so much, which seems to allow them to come to terms with the loss. But in reality they had no choice.
Eddie would never throw a fight. He lives for this shit. He wanted to beat Conor and become a star
The champs of the future are going to have these non traditional movements. You already see it in Cruz, McG, Jones, Machida (a pioneer of this) The traditional chin in boxing stance or muay thai stance is becoming a very predictable thing and youll always have a multitude of sparring partners to mimick that. Guys like cruz, mcG and jones are almost impossible to mimick.
