However, I believe he will lose for two reasons (or lose even worse for those who think he is going to get smashed)
1.NY media obligations for Conor are going to be ridiculous, more than Eddie and the camp is too short to tag them on.
2. The Camp is too short. To compete with a beast like Eddie I think he needs an unbroken 8 week camp and there isn't quite enough time.
3. Straight off a 5 round war. To be fair (Diaz was a a razors edge from winning) he didn't take that much punishment in the last fight but it's still a quick turnaround.
I think he has about a 20% chance of not getting mauled. Fair play to him, he's balls of steal has changed the way every fighter gets paid in the UFC for the better, is the biggest star we have seen in MMA and for the record, Couture and Penn got similar treatment .
I think Conors got a good shot at winning. He does his best work against agressive power strikers.
he knows fighters have a short window and that he is in his prime. if there is any time to fight guys bigger then him its now, before he loses his speed and can still yoyo his weight around. he is smarter then i previously gave hi credit for, he deserves the duckets
Dont really agree with your analysis;
He has apparently been training for a few weeks - rumours of his foot injury were exaggerated
I think he and his camp knew this was happening, was just a case of building the drama and dotting i's/crossing T's
Diaz wasnt really a "War" for him, per se. His biggest foe in Diaz fight was stamina, not Nates punishment
From previous experience, one of the stipulations will be shared media time, of this i feel certain
Most importantly, besides Eddies great performance v RDA, he has looked average at best in his previous UFC outings. A couple of razor sharp decisions were he stalled the fight. I dont think the McG camp would change Eddie for any other top 5 LW.
Contrastingly, besides the first Nate fight, he has looked amazing every time and comes into this fight with huge confidence also.
Make no mistake, this NY crowd will be teeming with Irish!

Agree with the thrust here, but I wouldnt say Eddie is bigger. I'd estimate they have similar 'walkaround' weight, are identical in height, and McGregore has a 5 inch reach advantage - pretty substantial for this weight division.

All fair points but the distractions for this leading into the fight are going to be immense I think. If Eddie gets him down I think it's going to be a rough night for him.
Conor is best thing to happn to the sport so far. I'm giving him a 40% chance of making history
McGOAT by brutal KO rd 1. You heard it here first kids. He will clown Alvarez
