From the article…

" Does that mean he didn’t make $50 million for UFC 229, or won’t make $80 million for his upcoming match? The internal information we have from the lawsuit ends on June 30, 2017, so it’s impossible know what he’s getting paid.

Perhaps those numbers are accurate?"

The ufc pay ppv on a scale. First million doesnt pay as well as the 2nd million.... and over 2 million buys hes likely on 10 to $20 per.

LOL.  Its a sliding scale, yes. But those #s are laughable

Why is it laughable?

Suppose Conor showed up to the table and said I want $5 million up front, $30 per buy up to a million, and $50 per buy after that. Do you agree to those terms?  If not, why?

Even with numbers skewed towards the fighter this much, the UFC and ESPN are going to make a hell of a lot more than the average ppv, and Conor knows this.

LOL, 30 per buy up to 1mil and 50 per after?

Try dropping the 0 from those, and you’d be in the ball park.

People still using figure from Randy Coutures contract over 15 years ago is laughable. Only Mayweather has sold more PPV’s than Conor in the history of combat Sports, not even Tyson.

Corn Pop -
FatBuddha - How is that possible?

I don’t believe him he’s making that much, but for Khabib fight it did 2.5m times $70 each and that’s $175,000,000. The gate also did around $17m. That’s not counting memorabilia, beer sales, or sponsors.

Honestly not a huge fan but Conor deserves $50m of that. Numbers aren’t close to that without him.

These PPV numbers are North America only. The ufc also receives revenue from other countries. During the interview Conor alluded to his pay being based on not just North American figures but also UK, Ireland and Australian revenue etc.

Youre high

The ufc gets $30 per ppv buy. The rest goes to the provider

The ufc gets about 1/2 of the pay per view revenue. The other 1/2 goes to the Ppv company

the ufc has to pay all their employees… set up the venue… market and advertise the fight. Pay all the other fighters.

And make a profit (the owners aren’t doing this for free)

So no Connor isn’t getting $50 / $30 of the Ppv buy.

I would guess $5-10 at max

that’s old info, there are no PPV companies anymore, its the UFC and ESPN nothing else

Correct. And all terms are negotiable. For instance when Mayweather holds big events at MGM he’d negotiate it where he got the venue for free, and earned all memorabilia and beer sales.

It’s been rumored that if a PPV does around $50k buys its breaking even. So if one is pulling 1.5-2.5m buys, like all of Conors have done recently, that’s generating up to hundreds of millions of dollars.

Not sure why people don’t think Conor could negotiate, say $50m or that. Other than Jones, no other fighter can seem to crack 300k buys anymore. Conor brings in so much more than any other fighter. And he’s getting paid for it

You’re fucking retarded.  Even at 2 million buys, how the fuck do u get 100s of millions? Lol

They bring in 60 million dollars on that. Before paying for anything.

I've worked with Arenas and them giving up Vending sales is highly unlikely...highly meaning almost impossible.  I've seen them forfeit rental fees and setups but never alcohol or food.

For those continually bringing up expenses, think about this...

Over the last few years, the UFC has put on many PPV’s that do 150k buys. For this shows, they had expenses, had to pay rest of card, market, set up venue, pay employees, etc… At 150k buys and $65/but, that $9.75m in gross PPV revenue. Yet it was still profitable for the UFC.

Now look at Conor vs Khabib. 2.5m buys times $65/buy, so a total revenue of $162,500,000 (and that’s not including the $17m gate. For example the previous PPV, UFC 228, did a $1.7m gate).

Why is it unrealistic to think that Conor, the reason for the huge bump, wouldn’t get a huge percentage of the revenue?

UFC 228: 130k buys and 1.7m gate. Total revenue: $10,150,000

UFC 229: 2.5m buys and 17.1m gate. Total revenue: $179,600,000

If you don’t think Conor deserves a huge chunk of that you’re not being honest with anyone

Casinos yeah, not in Vegas.  Just hard to believe.

Not going to post the entire, long article.

"Little do all those screaming fans know that the man they’re watching in the ring collects money on the tickets they bought, the beer or soda that they’re drinking, the hot dogs that they’re munching and the signs on the ring posts that they’re looking at.

Because of his unique business model, Mayweather reaps huge financial rewards from all aspects of fight night. All revenue streams for a Mayweather fight flow to the man who calls himself "Money.’’
