The whole event just looks vapid, ugly, even dark.
The whole modern world has succumbed, fallen, to the cult of the self. These events extend the narcissism to absurd ends.
Everyone is rolling up, totally self-conscious, totally self absorbed, obsessed with appearance.

Also, if it is true that Conor went into a rage because the guy refused his request for a picture.
Then that is a very similar thing to the situation with the old man in the pub.
In both cases Conor was refused. He was shunned. Not wanted. Not accepted. His high social status denied, ignored, rejected and he was publicly embarrassed.
This causes rage in Conor, apparently.
