That's a good highlight video. Props to the creator for not including any Nate Diaz scenes of him tapping and getting smacked around like a 2 cent whore. They stuck to the 145lb division and allowed us to watch him abuse midgets, starting with Brimage. They also didn't include Holloway, because he couldn't KO Holloway. How convenient. You know what though.. he did pretty good in the midget division, I'll give him that. That was his best time, and I can't say the fights and energy in those fights wasn't exciting. He was a big deal at the time, and his left hand became a spectacle against the smaller guys. The guy has been carried by the promotion however, and that's my biggest beef with him. That he didn't need to be protected, just let the dude bang out and earn his place in history. No need to carry him and protect him like they have. No need to ram a million commercials down our throats calling him MJ, trying to tell us what to think about the dude. His body of work would paint how he's remembered without your influence. He's been a 155lb'er this whole time fighting a division down. Guy can even fight at 170lb if he wanted to, he looked thicker than Nate Diaz for sure when they matched up. If he starts a second half to his career and fights the studs at 155lb to earn his place this time, I will stop saying what I say about him, win or lose it won't matter. He'll deserve his respect, but if Dana keeps giving him free titleshot after free titleshot he'll forever be a fraud. A hype job product that was pumped and pushed by master Don King Dana. Let's see him face the Leonardo Santos', Charles Oliveira's, Dan Hooker's, Justin Gaethje's, and cement his place with merit not hype. 145lb the dude deserves his props, even though HE WAS helped, he still deserves his props for that little run he had. 155lb he doesn't deserve shit.. he hasn't earned shit. He's young enough and has enough time to fill the legacy holes in his career. Somewhere along the way he's going to need to defend a title a few times. Judging by his selection of Cowboy who is coming off 2 losses it tells me he has no intentions of challenging himself, or he's struggling with self doubt. He's going after what he thinks is the weakest link in the chain of contenders, and that's what fucked him when he chose Diaz last time. Should have chosen a Dan Hooker or Justin Gaethje fight, would have been more respectable. Beat a winner, don't pick the guy on a slide. That's weak!

This post is insane. I don't even care for Conor but his detractors are just as batshit as the people who constantly ride his dick. Conor was a 145er because he made 145 pounds. Period. You can accuse so many people of fighting a weight class lower than their "natural" weight but it's nonsense. If you can make the weight and you win at it, you didnt do anything wrong. And of all the people who fight long and lanky and enjoy a reach advantage in their division, when they could easily move up a class or two, you accuse Conor of cheating the system? He is a MILD offender of that tactic. A few of his 145 wins were the same size as him. Fucking Holloway is taller than him. He enjoyed a decent size advantage, SOMETIMES, but it wasn't ridiculous. And the guys who were significantly shorter than him, like Chad Mendes, had no problem fighting and BEATING bigger fighters than Conor before. You're droning on and on about his legacy being fraudulent while trying to completely detract from all of his accomplishments by claiming he fought smaller guys and, god forbid when he BEAT Max, he didn't KO him.
Being a two division champ and ending Aldo's reign the way he did cements his legacy, whether you like it or not. The worst you could say is he leveraged fame for opportunity, but that's half the story, he seized the opportunities and that's the impressive legacy cementing part, that a lot of people can't do.
