Fighters, practitioners, fans alike; the entire Mixed Martial Arts community should be supporting him instead of hoping for his defeat. Regardless of how you feel about the entire "circus" matchup, this is only but a good thing for both sports.

We should be rooting for "our guy" to win. This fight will almost put an end to the whole Boxer vs. MMA fighter debate and the MMA communty will enjoy the spoils with Conor as the victor.

This type of matchup essentially formed from the root of combat sports. Style vs. style* (although McGregor will not be allowed to use his full abilities), the "Karate" guy vs. the boxer. It is truly a throwback to the early days of combat.

We all tuned into the freakshow matchups that Pride and similar fights where fighters from a respective martial art fought one another but never really in their primes (Couture/Toney) but  now we will witness two fighters at the top of their games face off in the fight of this century.

Its not a win for both sports. If Conor were to land the big shot boxing would be done.

Boxing will do to MMA what GJJ did to the traditional martial arts. MMA gyms will look like Cobra Kai after Daniel Larusso won the All Valley .

You can't sit there and say that Boxing is different from MMA punching? There are certain techniques, movements and ways of throwing a strike that is not seen in boxing. This has everything to do with style vs. style. Stop being a bitch and enjoy this for what it is. A fight.

Of course it is but there's more to it than that. We just need to look past all the bs from the media and view the matchup from a different perspective.
