So, like most of us are from time to time, I'm on the injured list. Bad knee, blah blah. Anyway, I can still roll but I have to carefully choose my partners because I can't move much, or quickly.
So I've been finding myself looking for low risk subs that don't involve spinning, twisting, exploding, etc. Gi chokes are nice, inverted armbars when I see them, that kind of things. No far side armbars or triangles.
Any suggestions? Maybe video links?
Anything from mount.
Anything that irrationally jeopardizes the many in favour of the few.
Why no far-side armbars?
Far-side armbar: Can't spin or move that much.
And I like mount but I can't really do it right now with the knee. Guess I'm looking for stuff from side.
There is the baseball choke and the "step over" choke.
Muffinho - There is the baseball choke and the "step over" choke.
step over is my favorite. you can also set up belly down armbat when they escape and inverted triangle and far side arm crush
Americana from kesa, Kimura from side control, and cross chokes and guillotines from everywhere.
Work your gi chokes.
Probably the "Gingrichoplata" --but you gotta work for it. There are no free lunches when it comes to conservative submissions.
Heel hooks and neck cranks

Dammit, I was gonna try to name a submission after Rush Limbaugh...
I have found the conservative submissions a bit limp-wristed myself. I am working on reactionary submissions!
GregBell - North south choke....no spinning but you, ll have to rotate. Kimura is an oldie but goodie
+ 1 for North-South choke. Any time you get side control and can clear the arms/keep the guy somewhat flat on his back, it's right there. Should the guy turn to either side, there's also the brabo choke and the side choke/Ezekiel. Chokes from top position FTW.
Any submission ideas I get from this thread, I'm renaming the moves.
"I just hit you with a reverse Lee Atwater!"
"You need to learn to tap early when I go for an inverted Rick Santorum."
"I just Karl Rove'd your ass!"
When I think of conservative, the last name that occurs to me is Jeff Glover. Ironically, the series he shows starting at 4:25 is one of the best conservative submission series I know of, it works great and is low risk.

He doesn't show it, but if the partner defends the paper cutter with the farside arm, he gives the Americana. If the partner turns in more, we have the farside armbar.
With a gi, added in, there are some nice lapel ("skirt") chokes like variations of the brabo and ninja choke.
Along the same lines, lots of classic lockflows that are low-risk can be found here:
