16 year old girls demand things they don't deserve.

Who sounds like a 16 year old girl, again?

lol, i knew this Jones nuthugger would make it by Page 1

Oh did you?  Funny since I'm not a fan of Jones.

gabemadrid - DC is a legit threat to JJ and he's just trying to squash any potential fight with him. I mean he took a fight with Chael. If anyone skipped the line or shouldn't have had the shot... Phone Post 3.0

InvisibleControl - Can't wait for someone to smash Jones. I would like to see Gus KO him, Then Cormier beat the fuck out of him for 5 rounds, then Glover KO him into retirement. Phone Post 3.0

If this happens. There is a god Phone Post

Weird 'cause on the News page it says Roy Nelson. It's almost as if it was rewritten with the typo for this thread. Phone Post 3.0

Cormier is on the daily grind with Cain Velasquez and people think he is lazy? That's a bit of a stretch!

It's far more likely his physique is an issue of diet not work rate... you can run and work hard all day but if you're already carrying some fat and not eating at a caloric deficit or sneaking ice cream and cheeseburgers cause you don't have to cut weight you're never gonna look ripped. Doesn't mean you're lazy in the gym!

Seems like he's got his diet under control showing a nice gradual drop in weight over the last year, the slower the better as he'll preserve more muscle and strength!

We still havn't seen Jon put on his back yet - some people thought Sonnen was the man to go in there, get in his face and get him to the ground but when the time came he seemed hesistant and showed Jon to much respect instead of really going for broke.

DC won't show Jon the same respect and should be the first person to really get in his face and try dump him on his butt. He might still get subbed or KO'd but I really think DC is the most legit threat to Jon right now.

I'd like to see DC fight at least one of the top 5 @ LHW before Jones just so he gets a feel for cutting weight again if nothing else. Should be good!

You sound like a fatty <img alt="Phone Post 3.0" border="0" src="/images/phone/apple.png" style="vertical-align:middle;" /></blockquote>

There's no fat on me mate, what makes you say that? Cause I said not looking ripped doesn't mean you're slack in the gym? Diet is the most crucial part of body composition - the fittest guy is not necessarily the most ripped guy. Cain's carrying some fat and he's certainly not slack in the gym.

I'm not saying DC is the hardest worker or has the greatest cardio around but to say he's slack in the gym is a big stretch when you look at who he's training with!

Guys don't forget a "lazy" athlete is a lot different to a lazy person. Phone Post 3.0

As has been posted, if Cormier has achieved all he has as an athlete while being lazy then I would not be motivating him Phone Post 3.0

'' "I don't think he wants to work hard''...

Come on Jon. Your potentially the GOAT of all time but brush up on ''smart'' things to say. This is a dude who has been on the Olympic wrestling team. And you are trying to convince the world that he does not want to work hard.

Please get that management team to get a dude to write some stuff for you because this is a little silly.

An entire page of Jones hate is ok, but one person defends him and they're a nut hugger? The guy is absolutely right.

Cormier doesn't deserve it. He started the shit talk on Jones before he even had a single fight in the UFC. The only one hugging nuts is Cormier. Phone Post 3.0

It's quite unique to America. Most countries fully support their champions.

America seems to despise their own in a savage, relentless fashion.

Bones receives an unfathomable amount of hate for such a talented young kid.

I see Weidmans beginning to get the same treatment now he's had the nerve to become champion.

Is this what happens to those who realise 'the American dream'? Phone Post 3.0

"he just wants to be famous", "i don't think he works too hard"

did Jones really say that?

He was lazy as an Olympian as well. If he was in great shape he could fight at 185 Phone Post

you're a complete idiot and this world would be better off without you

Up until the early 90's it was "cool" to be patriotic. Some how then Political Correctness took hold (coincides Ironically when Clinton came into office) and now if your "patriotic" the intellectually "elite" look at you like your some dumb hillbilly from the mountains.

I would say it happened more recently cause everyone was patriotic after 9/11 but as soon after the Iraq war came into play patriotism took a sharp turn downwards and what you mentioned took place

I agree with some of your post, but you shouldn't comment on the Jones/Sonnen fight because its obvious you did not watch it.

Sonnen went at Jones like a mad man, throwing wildly with a lot of in your face pressure. That lead to the clinch, in which Chael felt Jon's power and was taken down and beaten up. There was no "Chael showing jones too much respect." Just Chael getting out classed. Phone Post 3.0

I don't think that the hardcore MMA fanbase is particularly liberal.

You got a lot of American fans with a hardcore fetish for Brazilian fighters and many others who are fervently anti-black. Those are the main reasons for selective nationalism.

I don't get the unbelievable amount of hate most of you have for Jones, a guy you only know from interviews. It isn't healthy to have that kind of venom for people you know much less a stranger. Is he a good fighter? Yes. Is he entertaining as a fighter? Yes. That is what matters to me.

As for DC I don't think he is lazy physically at all. But he definitely had a history that was undisciplined and showed a lack of self control when it came to his diet.

I did watch the fight I think I just worded it slightly wrong and gave you the wrong impression. I should of specified " he seemed hesistant and showed Jon to much respect instead of really going for broke for the takedown".

You're correct Sonnen did indeed get in his face right from the bell but he was trying to strike with Jon not take him down. I didn't mean he hesitated in getting in his face I meant he hesitated in shooting for a takedown and opted to try and strike with him first probably in an attempt to open up a better opportunity for a takedown.

Go watch the fight again yourself man. Sonnen attempted 0 takedowns the entire fight and he had some chances to at least try for one. Sonnen came in throwing a leg kick and initiating some striking, they exchange a couple of times and Jon ducks under clinches and takes him down.

Sonnen gets back to his feet they're trying to punch each other from the clinch they seperate Chael moves towards him tries to strike and again they exchange before Jon ducks under again initiates the clinch and takes him down yet again.

At no point did Sonnen shoot for or even attempt a takedown, I believe he had so much respect for Jon's defensive wrestling skills and range so he wanted to try set up a decent opening for a takedown by striking with him first only Jon beat him to the takedown each and every time.

Takedowns

Jones 3 of 6

Sonnen 0 of 0

I think DC will at least attempt a takedown on JJ and I also think DC is stronger than Sonnen in the clinch. I'm pretty confident DC will at some point drag him to the mat at least once - he might still get subbed or KO'd but I think hes got the best chance to put JJ on his back out of everyone at LHW.
