Who else is going to see this one? I'm in section 110.
me.. on ppv. should be great!!
Humberto Soto vs. Bobby Pacquiao, 10 rounds, junior lightweights
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Grover Wiley, 10 rounds, welterweights
Anthony Thompson vs. Yuri Foreman, 10 rounds, junior middleweights
Nice undercard too. Surprised I've just gotten crickets so far.
I really like boxing so don't take this the wrong way but boxing enthusiasts keep claiming that UFC fighters are nothing but dumb street fighter, bar room brawlers, and yet they continue to promote this fight by way of Judah being such a badboy who will "do whatever it takes to win," while showing clips of him running around the ring during a corner clearing brawl trying to throw cheapshots at the opposing corner.
I'm on the fence about buying this one. The main event is a solid matchup but not a must see blockbuster, and the undercard is pretty junky. If I can get some friends to come over, I'll probably buy it. If not, I don't think it's a good enough one to stay home and buy on my own.
Hey, I hear you man, there's certainly some insecurity in the boxing world - I just don't really care about it. Besides, the more they try to shit on mma, the more attention it gets.
I'm a sports fan though, not just a mma or boxing fan. IMO this is a great night of fights, and I'm pretty psyched I managed to find good tix.
The undercard is far from solid. Not sure why you guys think it's so good.
I'm surprised you think the undercard is junky. Humberto Soto is top 5 IMO, I know Bobby is kind of junky, but hey a top 5 fighter on a boxing undercard is nothing to sneeze at these days.
Anthony Thompson - Yuri Foreman is also an excellent matchup of quality prospects, should be a good one. I could care less about JCC jr.
Bobby Pacquiao is a decent fighter and will be game, but Soto is clearly a class or two above him and that fight is pretty much a mismatch.
Thompson/Foreman is OK, but nothing to write home about. It could be a main event on a ESPN2 or Versus but I don't think it really adds any PPV value.
JCC Junior beating up on another no-hoper doesn't really interest me.
If you want an example of a good undercard, look at the Pacquiao/Solis card back in April. That had Arce/Mijares and Viloria/Sosa, which were both hotly contested matchups among top 10 fighters.
Hmmm.. I saw that PPV it did have a good undercard and honestly, I really enjoyed it because I bet big on a +320 prop of mijares by dec.
However, this is a much better main event (even though Pac-Solis exceeded expectations). I am going to enjoy it and it's undercard for sure. Get some buddies together TC, I think you might be pleasantly surprised by this one.
Wow really, Ned! Im in row C seats 1 and 2. Look for the tall dude with brown hair wearing a Mike Tyson - Lennox Lewis "Is On" Shirt
True, this main event is better than Pac/Solis. I'm going to try to rally the troops for this one, but it's not always so easy. MMA cards tend to generate more interest among my friends these days. Boxing cards require more salesmanship from me.
Nah, I just have a larger pool to ask when it comes to the UFC. There are a lot of people from my BJJ school that are only interested in MMA. I have a few non-BJJ friends that I have gotten interested in boxing but it's a much smaller pool. At most I can get 2-3 people over for a boxing card whereas for MMA I can get 5-10.
Sat 6/9 Miguel Angel Cotto vs Zab Judah
Miguel Angel Cotto -309
Zab Judah +279
Over 9.5 rounds +106
Under 9.5 rounds -116
I was gonna take a pass on this one, but I just hate not betting on events I see live. Those lines are from Pinny, haven't seen any props available. Bodog doesn't have a line up yet for it.
Cotto started as an even bigger favorite and has since been bet down.
Any thoughts on betting this one?
ttt anyone else going?
Those odds aren't great. I guess if I had to choose I'd take Judah. He's still fast and has some pop and Cotto's chin has always been a little iffy. If I had to pick a winner it would be Cotto, but if I had to bet with those odds, Judah may be worth a small play.
