The Miguel Cotto- Paul Malignaggi fight at NYC's famed Madison Square Garden has only 3 thousand tickets left of its 19,000+ availible tickets. Promoter Bob Arum expects a full sell out by fight time.
Are you saying 3,000 of 19,000 have been sold?
Clarify your post, BeerMuscles. Lord, I spent my time reading it. The least you can do is have it make sense.
Let's see, a Brooklyn Italian-American(a loudmouthed, trash talking one at that)challenging a Puerto Rican champion at MSG. Both undefeated.
Think anyone in New York is interested?
It may very well be a sellout by Saturday.
Malignaggi has been slinging an awful lot of hash at a bemused Cotto. He better hope he can back it up or else he'll have to find a nice big hole to crawl into afterwards.
Is this gonna be on TV I can't wait for this
I fixed the post, sorry about that.
" BeerMuscles=TUF fan"
HAHAHAHA. While I do watch the show, I'm not what the UG considers a "TUF fan". I was a fan of MMA long before the TUF and a lifelong Boxing fan. I used to have a large collection of Boxing matches on video dating back from the early 80's. It was destroyed in a fire.

You failed to mention the Irish middleweight John Duddy is headlining the undercard. He's becoming a huge draw in NYC. Yeah, this is definitely a New York card.
The fight is the weekend of the Puerto Rican Day parade, it better sell out. The atmosphere is going to be rediculous

That's right.
Duddy is also a very exciting fighter. He can punch a bit and has looked good as his opposition has improved.
Ya malinaggi will get ko'd by the 4th for sure he wont be able to handle the kind of punching power and good accuracy that cotto has
Agreed. Cotto will most likely KO him into a living death.
Malinaggi was fun to watch, very fast hands, but Cotto is the man with
his KO power.
How is it that B-Hop vs. Tarver AND this fight are all on PPV on the same night when they are different cards?
Because promoters are assholes and they thought it would be cute to hold PPV cards in NYC AND Atlantic City on the same night.
De Lahoya and Arum = Bitter Rivals.
Arum had the date booked in MSG a year ago, and then Arum picked the same date. Arum was furious. HBO is handling Hopkins-Tarver, while Cotto-Malinaggi is sort of independent.
And then De La Hoya picked the same date that is.
I think this will be a good fight. Malinaggi can take it if he can keep Cotto off him. He has a ton of skill and speed. A good boxer who is quick can be a a big problem for a bralwer style guy. Paul may not hit hard but he will hit Cotto a lot. Cotto doesnt have the best chin in the world either, if Corley can hurt him then Malinaggi can as well.
Malinaggi by UD.
So both will be on PPV but on different channels?
P.S. Paulie will lose unless the ring is huge. He needs to stick and move AND not get get hit. In a smaller ring, that will be hard to do. Cotto can knock out Paulie, but the reverse is not true.
"How is it that B-Hop vs. Tarver AND this fight are all on PPV on the same night when they are different cards?"
Hopkins/Tarver is HBO PPV and Cotto/Malignaggi is an independently produced Top Rank PPV. If I'm not mistaken, Top Rank originally wanted Cotto/Malignaggi to air on HBO, but when Tarver/Hopkins was signed, they swooped in and stole the date. Arum was pissed and refused to reschedule and decided to make it his own independent PPV to compete with Hopkins/Tarver.
The real fight this Saturday is between Bob Arum/Lou Dibella Vs Golden Boy Productions.
Malinaggi is a joke. I hate boxers like him, guys who proclaim how badass they are, yet he has only fought bums and managed to KO or finish fighters who were basically losing record, half-braindead, journeymen he faced early in his career.
