A minor correction about Reza. He has never won nationals in Greco. He won it twice in freestyle (2002 and 2003) but never in Greco. Greco is much harder competition than freestyle here
Gokudamus stole my name - A minor correction about Reza. He has never won nationals in Greco. He won it twice in freestyle (2002 and 2003) but never in Greco. Greco is much harder competition than freestyle here
Ok thanks for the correction. I got the wrestling credentials from UFC.com where Reza says on his fighter bio
"What ranks and titles have you held? Swedish freestyle wrestling champion, Swedish Greco-Roman wrestling champion, Superior Challenge title holder, X-Fight FC title holder"
And definitely the competition in greco is lightyears tougher than freestyle in the Nordics. Sweden (like Finland) has a history of great greco dudes like Martin Lidberg who by the way beat Dan Henderson in the '96 olympics
Ah no idea why he claimed that
Its possible he did it as a junior but i wrestled the same time he was active and i know he never won Greco as a senior.
His wrestling is not bad. He isnt very technical but he has endless cardio and simply works like a dog for the takedown
Lidberg was interested in competing in MMA 5 years ago but he got a cushy job as a health coach and abandoned the idea. His brother is pretty good aswell. He might consider MMA if he doesnt make the olympics
I got goose bumps from that HL. Very cool clip!
Looking forward to seeing Tom Deblass make a wave here, got in this show as a last minute replacement but he's been tearing it up in smaller shows.
Yea DeBlass is an excellent replacement for Kruth. Classic striker vs grappler match up now with Diabate
Maincard breakdowns coming up next
Gotta love that old Staffie boy just enjoying his afternoon rest
Good stuff!!

Thanks for keeping up to date on our small (but growing!) MMA community in Scandinavia.
Cannot WAIT for UFC Sweden, and to see whether Simeon Thorsen can get that very first Norwegian UFC win. The sport would become much bigger here if he could get that win, and perhaps even go onto win more. I can only imagine the headlines. Especially now that Einemo retired...
Proud to see Kampmann and Gustafsson kick ass too. If Gustafsson defeats Silva he CANNOT be far from a title shot.
Swedes getting crazy with the Mauler highlights as the event approaches. Here one of the new ones: Gustafsson Highlight Video: Ingemar Johansson Inspiration
Music by The Hives from Sweden. I wish some Swede does a Gustafsson highlight with Entombed's Lights Out.
