Yeah, I meant to leave a few sample paragraphs of our interview but I couldn't post it for some reason.
Basically, I recently had the opportunity to speak about Court McGee about his life growing up, his days as a heroin addict, his time on 'TUF,' and his upcoming match in September.

I have multiple coaches, but my two main coaches are John Hackleman—the owner and the founder of The Pit—and Jason Mertlich—he’s my jiu-jitsu, ground, and conditioning coach—and they’re equal. It’s a big family and I’m very connected with them; I’m very close to John Hackleman and Jason Mertlich, too.
I had a coach that didn’t show up for five weeks and I found out that he was taking money from me—and it was very difficult for me to let him go—but I asked Jason if he would take me through his belt system. He’s a black belt in FOUR7 jiu-jitsu—it’s a really unique combat jiu-jitsu system for mixed martial arts. It’s, like, a 10-15 year process and he stood up and took on the challenge, came on as one of my head coaches, and he’s done a fantastic job. We’ve got a really great relationship and he’s a great coach.
I’ve also got four or five training partners who are really close friends and I’ve got an active life in recovery. Sober comes first, though; if I can’t stay away from drugs and alcohol, then I can’t have any of this. I was living in a meth lab trailer, using drugs—I couldn’t even hold a job—and now I’m a pro athlete in the UFC and I won ‘The Ultimate Fighter,’ I just recently bought a home, I’ve got two vehicles that I’ve paid for, my debt is paid off—and I’m not rich by any means—but I’m comfortable and I’ve got my family. I couldn’t ask for a better life, you know?
Nice job. Thanks.
I thought Dana said on Opie and Anthony that his fighters are all scholar graduates?
So that's what the beard is hiding...

Court is an awesome guy. Glad to see him doing so well for himself!
They were talking about this when he won TUF and was crying when Dana gave him the check.
Court seems like a really great dude and I can't wait to see him fight.
the resemblance is uncanny!!!!
Moving interview. Thanks for sharing.
Drastic turnaround.. Seems impossible except considering this one rare case
Everyone knows heroin addicts and tweekers rarely mingle.
Very inspiring. I am curious, how long was he an addict? Dude is only 26 years old and started competing in 2007. How long was he a a heroin addict and at what age did he start? It sounds like he wouldnt have been able to train fully for a couple of years around 20, which makes his skill today extremely impressive. Imagine how good he would be had he not missed out on those years...
Very cool,
I always be rooting for Court, even though i am not the biggest fan of his style.
Still i am going to call him Court Heisenberg McGee from now on!!
GMan99 - Moving interview. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, sir. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
grimsgrind - But I think the article should replace Meth with Heroin...From what I understand his opiate addiction was his main shmeal.
You are correct, sir.
I think that was just a miscommunication.
