Couture: Corner ban was 'over the line'

I doubt the show will do very well imho.

Rambo John J - I am interested in watching this show, Production value looks more professional than TUF.

But WTF is Joe Warren doing in the back of that picture, wtf is he there for.

He's a coach lol Phone Post

Well hmmmm let me say something positive............
Atleast id dont see a red mohawk guy or a purple hair guy thats a plus Phone Post

It was over the line, doesnt matter what Dana thinks about Randy as a person and whether or not he feels betrayed that has nothing to do with his son.

You can hate Randy all you want but he could have been the bigger man and put that aside and allow one of his fighters to have his dad in his corner.

Randy makes a good point, if that were Dana's kid how would he feel?

I do think Randy comparing this to Jackson is ridiculous, Jackson didnt fight/work for the UFC and didnt screw the UFC over and go to the competitor, atleast Dana believes he screwed him over.

So thats not the same thing but Dana could have been the bigger man and done whats right and let Randy corner his son.

Did you even watch TUF last season? Cause I'm not sure how you can say that looks more professional than TUF. TUF 17 was excellent the way it was produced.

If I`m not mistaken, the commission said that they would licence Randy & he could do his job.

That's true, but that doesn't mean the UFC has to let him into their event.

Dana could honestly learn a few things from Vinnie Mac in this area, IMO.

What do you mean? When it comes to business, McMahon is pretty damn ruthless. McMahon probably would've done way worse to Randy if he were in Dana's shoes.

Depends on the timeline.

Vince has a history of getting into MAJOR legit feuds with talent. But if it makes business sense, he's always figured out a way to bury the hatchet and bring 'em back.

Except for the now deceased Macho Man. But that's a whole other story.

Rambo swings from Bellator's nuts. There are just some guys out there who will shill for anything non-ufc. Phone Post 3.0

Fuck Randy.

When he signed with Bellator he gave up the right to work UFC events, plain and simple.

He could have stayed with the company and tried to help his son, but no, Man of the Year Couture had to jump ship immediately prior to his kids debut.

Fuck him. Phone Post 3.0

Damn. The bottom pic is like the who's who of who Dana hates aside from Warren. Randy sort of made Dana's point for him when he said its business.

Dana please ban that piece of shit Lloyd Irvin while you're at it. Phone Post

Probably the last season of tuf I'll watch the way it looks to be headed. A knock off of a show that's really run it's course seems even less appealing to me. Phone Post

Hes betrayed ufc more than once. Him being banned from ufc events is perfectly reasonable response to his actions.

Agreed with Randy. Block him from everything from the UFC, but not cornering his own son at an event, that is over the line. After everything Randy has done in the cage for the UFC.

Stupid move by Dana, it gives Randy and Bellator more publicity and exposure and makes him look like a petty insecure bitch.

I don't think it was as much him going to the competition as it was him lying about it.

Regardless, how about Randy and Dana each stop talking about one another and move on? Dana has not mentioned Randy in a while, don't see why Randy has to talk about it. Focus on your future, not the past.

This coming right after Rampage, I have a feeling that Spike is going to be encouraging guys to take shots at Dana and the UFC.

Def, its poking the bear with a stick. they just signed Page, the Fight Master shit starts a week from Wednesday. page having notes and reading them off during the PC talking about the UFC and Dana gets headlines.

It also gets Dana to respond which gets headlines. Same with this, he talks about Dana that gets put on mmajunkie, gets put on sherdog, the ug, BE and everyone talks about Randy and while he is doing this they throw him talk about Fight Master.

Then if Dana responds now to Randy its even more publicity for the show.

Thats what its about. Dana is better off ignoring them and not giving them any press to hype their TUF show.

What? DW did back off and Randy could have cornered if he wanted to. I guess he didn't because he dayum sure didn't bother showing up.

The event was 4/6. Ryan's peeps were informed around 2/18, just like everyone else was, that Zuffa had no problem with anyone cornering anyone. Soooo now what's his excuse? And LOL@ his little bitchy rant when he KNOWS his ass could have shown up=)

Apparently when Ryan Couture makes his UFC debut, there won't be an issue if his father is one of the cornerman. George Sallfeldt, president of the Swedish MMA Federation, said that the UFC has cleared all cornerman for the April show.

"We don't have any rules about who can corner an athlete," said Sallfeldt on Nordic MMA. "That's up to the athlete. We talked to the UFC and they have no problems with anyone corning anyone. I don't see any problems in this specific case."

Sallfeldt said that the number of cormerman is limited and can be changed on the day of the show.

There was some uncertainty after Randy Couture, Ryan's father, left the UFC and signed a deal with Spike TV. By doing so, he became a coach on the new Bellator reality show.

Ryan makes his UFC debut against Ross Pearson from the Ericsson Globe Arena. That happens at UFC on FUEL TV 9 on April 6 out of Sweden.

Nobody has to shill up the thread because Couture's history as a person and businessman speaks for itself.
This. Randy is far from a good guy. Phone Post 3.0
