Cerrone was in no way shape or form out in either round. Don't know what the hell fight you were watching. The end of both rounds looked like a normal Cowboy first round where he gets pieced up before warming up. Horseshit.
Punch Drunk and Driving - lol dude on a win streak loses to a formidable fighter and now he's punchy.
Never mind the fact he was up and aware as soon as he was knocked down and when the fight ended. Not saying he didn't lose but...
Jesus the fair weather fans around here are ridiculous.
"Fair weather fans"
I dont think being concerned with a fighter brain health is really being a fair weather fan, as you put it. Didn't sound to me like he is jumping ship as a fan because he lost, it sounded more like he is worried that Cowboys reactions to getting hit may be a sign that he can't take damage like he used to, percieved or not.
I personally don't think Donald should retire, unless his Dr's tell him he should due to CTE.
I really started to notice in the Matt Brown fight, seems like every punch he's been taking has been bothering him. He used to walk through a lot of these shots he's been taking.
I really think Cowboy needs to retire to avoid any damage to his future health.
I also think k he fights way too often when he got dropped in the Matt Brown fight I was hoping he was going to take some time off to recover but he went right back into it and payed for it. Sucks too see he's one of my favorites.
He lost because Masvidal got him in a closer range (standing right in the pocket). This neutralize the high-kick. Every high-kick he did in that range there's an easy straight-hook waiting for him.
His corner should've told him not to throw high-kicks when Masvidal is close. Just jab - low kick then re-gain distance. But I understand that during end of round 1 they were more focused in getting Cowboy's wits back due to the strikes he took.
Cowboy is still a beast. But Masvidal have always been an underrated fighter. Very good striking, grappling and very cerebal.
Stiff as a board these days. All the weight cuts over the years have to be taking a toll. He's kept up an inhuman fight schedule for the longest time. Not sure where he fits in this point. Naturally he won't be satisfied in a role as gatekeeper, but how does he advance his career?
