Your getting owned in the standup, you can sweep the guy and get top controll anytime you want to try some G&P and do abseloutely nothing with your sweeps!?
WTF man..
I mean props to Diaz but Holy F'n teribble game plan and making abseloutely no adjustments in a fight!
and his corner did nothing to correct it wtf jackson?
Seriously, it's an awesome idea to box with a better boxer who's a southpaw and has a significant reach advantage.
What the actual fuck? Why does everybody try to box with the Diaz brothers? It blows my mind.
I mean don't get me wrong some serious props to Diaz but My F'n god! he was being totally outclassed in the stand up and could have easily gotten top controll to try some G&P to see if this could have changed momemtum and did abseloutely nothing to adjust and Jackson also does nothing to agjust....
I cannot believe this!!!
Stop.hatin.dude nate is a beast & beat cowboy at his own.game
Agreed--I thought that was really, really bizarre and was just about to start a thread on this
He was getting owned standing and couldnt keep the pace up with Nate. Why in God's name was he running away from getting top control??

Uh no, he didn't. That's what this thread is about, nate beat cowboy at nate's game.

Dude read my posts, i give Nate credit but cannot believe how narrow minded Cowboy and his corner were.
WestBuiltAMountain - I hated watching that.
What is the point of getting positional advantage if you're not going to use it? Sweeps are to get the fighter down - so fucking do something with it, don't turn your back and walk away so that you can get punched in the face 20 times before doing it again.
Exactly!!

No kidding, what a frustrating fight to watch.
I got the feeling that Cowboy stood up with Diaz to make a point, or get Diaz's respect. Nate always complains about people not standing up with him, to me, it almost seemed he was happy to get boxed up as long as he proved to diaz he would stand with him! Wtf
random_perv - The point is jackson knows his fighters cant roll with cesar gracie black belts.
Lol....like the stand-up was really working! u sure has hell need to try cause things could not have been worse.
Sorry Jetster, we have a new worst gameplan ever!
Lol..I really hate second guessing someone has educated and talented as jackson as a coach but Holy Bejesus I just thought it was sooo obvious?
Even if Jackson didn't believe Cowboy could roll with Nate after seeing how he was able to sweep Nate so easily and adding up cowboy getting raped standing up don't you tell him to sweep and try G&P from top controll?!
" Why does everybody try to box with the Diaz brothers? It blows my mind."
Cowboy said and clearly believed that he himself was "100% fact" the best striker in the entire division. He was probably in disbelief that he was getting beat over and over, and then had taken too much damage to fight effectively or sensibly.

I hear ya Bro and I agree but at some point you try something else...I truly beleive Cowbow can be a Champ but his mental game is no where near what it needs to be to become a Champ...what I mean is No one is better in this sport than everyone at every skill...ala GSP where he understands that, GSP contrary to what some think is a very solid striker and if the other fighter is weaker than him there he strikes (Kos) but GSP realizes he's not by far the best striker so he will wrestle and G&P say a Dan Hardy...Hence he remains Champ, obviously to do this you must be a great complete fighter but not the best at every skill....Actually Jones touched on this at the Post fight with Machida...His words were " I am not the best at every skill but I am the best at putting it all together" = a very skilled fighter realizing he will go where the fight needs to go te be and remain Champ.
Cowboy will never even come close to being champ untill his mental state changes...I was very disapointed about the weakness he showed with that variable....Diaz fucked him up Menatly first and foremost but I think Nate would have taken this to the ground if he was getting owned in the stand up...I was calling Cowboy but was extremely impressed with Nate and not just for his obvious skills but how menatly he won this fight before it even got into the Octagon....This is GSP's strength You piss him off and he fights better and smarter.
If cowboy would have realized this he had easy top controll and G&P...not to say he would habe won but it sure would have changed the fight possibly...
Just ranting...
ttt
Warrior Bahn - He had no head movement, and I would of like to see him drop one big punch from the top when he was kicking Nates legs out from under him
Dude I was telling this 2 myself the Whole F'n fight!!
homie was scared.
Even Greg Jackson was screaming at him "Take him down"
