Cowboy has solid wrestling, killer grappling and good overall striking.
Conor has the boxing and power to drop Diaz thrice.
Excellent matchup.
Isn't cowboy even bigger than Nate?
Wasa-B - Firas seemed to think Cowboy would win.Who did Firas pick to win Diaz McGregor 2?
Would be a great fight. Honestly think Cowboy would be wise to take it to the ground, but I don't think he would. And I think Conor beats him on the feet
Cowboy has great takedowns
Cowboy will fuck him up.
Martyn -And he was correct.Wasa-B - Firas seemed to think Cowboy would win.Firas also thought Nate would beat Conor this past weekend.
superlurker2011 -ThoseSurgicalGloves -ThatCRE - Conor would fold him in half with a body shot. This
I'd like to think Cerrone would take this but to me it's one of those fights that could go either way stylistically. One thing I do know is McGregor would get into his head and that would be bad news for Cerrone. I wouldn't put money on either guy in this one.
I'd pick Cowboy.
i dont think cowboy can even take one left straight like diaz.
Seagals Kill Switch - Don't know but I'd watch the shit out of it.This.
Malvert the Janitor -Wasa-B - Firas seemed to think Cowboy would win.Who did Firas pick to win Diaz McGregor 2?
Diaz but he still said Connor has his chances and a 3-2 eek out means he dont know much? Im not saying Firas saying Cowboy having his chances means Cowboy wins fir certsin, there isnt a soul in the world that can pick with certainty, it just means that yothe notion that Cowboy having no chance is silly.
Hes got diff tools, cardio as well as the ability to take diwn ww wrestlers like Story and his subs are good too. I would hardly say no chance.
ClydeErwinBarret -Pretty much people don't realize, legs kicks work best on right handed fighters fighting other right handed fighters or left handed fighters, fighting other left handed fighters.UpperdoG - If it were to eventually happen..
Both Diaz and Conor are a little heavy on the lead leg. Both tend to prefer countering.
Conor used a lot of leg kicks this last fight because Nate isn't known for checking, catching or his wrestling. Nate keeps his hands out some and high, boxes you up and folds you up if you both end up on the ground with some world class.
Conor fought intelligently and won a close hard decision.
Nate looked phenomenal striking with Cowboy. Cerrone rode that shit out, kept coming forward and lost a hard fought decision.
Cowboy has some fuck you kicks that Nate doesn't, as well as better wrestling and a solid ground game himsrlf. I don't think Cowboy would give a shit here if it hit the ground to land some some fuck you's.
I think Donald would be a greater threat. Stylistic, on paper scribbling mmath.
Thoughts?
imo, no.
Cerrone is taller but has a shorter reach. He's always center-line and unless Cerrone takes it down and tires McGregor out, he gets dropped by that left hand over and over. It'd be even easier to land it since Cowboy is a righty and doesn't have a huge reach/range advantage at all.
He does have leg kicks.
It'd be a fun fight to watch.
Cowboys takedowns are criminally underrated. If you choose to take mcgregor down, I think he'd beat up. On the feet, he's too linear and has always had trouble with southpaw's.
Tough fight to call but would love to see it. Conor would undoubtedly be working that body and I believe Cowboy might change things up a bit to focus heavily on wrestling for a possible submission win.
As someone pointed out, Cowboy's wrestling is a HELL of a lot better than most people give him credit for. Cowboy is already dangerous standing and I think he likes his performance bonuses so he just doesn't utilize takedowns that much as a rule.
I don't know who would win, but my body is ready.
Wasa-B - Firas seemed to think Cowboy would win.Word
Nope...see Diaz has no defined target. Mcgregor tried the legs and it didnt fully work as he said he was able to take them and counter as well as check them eventually. It worked for RDJ who is a powerhouse but it may not work again, who knows..
But cowboy has a big target on his body. it is his weakness. and he would crush that. and im wayyy more of a cowboy fan...
cowboys got a solid shot, but he isnt bigger then diaz, he got mauled by diaz, and he has a target on his body. if he could get the takedown then maybe he has a shot but i see him going doing in the first
chaplinshouse -Cowboy isn't the same fighter as when Nate got him. This fight would be the biggest money maker at LW. It's a shame Cowboy didn't beat RDS then have to face Conor
Too tough to call but I think Cowboy would be the favorite
didnt beat him? he got steamrolled...
cowboy isn't nearly as durable as nate, not a knock on him just a reality.
