American Top Team fighters Nathan Coy and Wilson Gouveia, were both victorious at last nights MFC 32 in Alberta, Canada.
Nathan Coy led the way on HDnets main card, as he took on rising star Dheigo Lima.
From the opening bell, Nate set a very high work rate as he continually took Dhiego down while working off his lead jab. Nate controlled much of the action on his way to a unanimous decision win over the previously undefeated Lima. Nate joined ATT last year and is now 2-0 during that time. This win has now earned him the right to fight for the MFC welterweight title sometime in May. Congrats to Nate "Soulforce" Coy!
In the main event of the evening, Wilson Gouveia took on hometown favorite Dwayne Lewis. Wilson chopped away at Lewis's lower leg (calf) early on and continued to target the area in the second round, where the damage was apparent. After dropping Lewis with another leg kick, Wilson went in for the finish. After a scramble by both men, Wilson took the back and flattened out his opponent as he rained down punches before the ref stopped the fight at 3:18 of the 2nd round. A solid win for Wilson, who took a year and a half off from fighting before stepping into the ring last night. One of the original guys form our team, it was nice to see Wilson back in there and getting the W. Congrats Wilsao!
