                    <p><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">It was 2011. The best female fighter in the world, and the&nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 20.8px;">Strikeforce women&#39;s featherweight champion&nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">was </span>Cris<span style="line-height: 1.6em;">&nbsp;</span>Cyborg<span style="line-height: 1.6em;">. Then she failed a </span>PED<span style="line-height: 1.6em;"> test and was suspended by the&nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 20.8px;">California State Athletic Commission.</span></p>

Cyborg was widely reviled; she learned who her friends were. Now former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has lost a fight, and has suffered a widespread fan backlash.

Despite whatever trash talk has passed between the pair, Cris Cyborg feels for Ronda Rousey.

"It's terrible," said Cyborg to Marc Raimondi for MMAFighting.com. "When you're there, every body is with you. I feel sorry about this. I know this, because before something happened in my career -- the doping -- and before everybody is with you [and then they're not]. But I love my fans. Some fans kept with me and I'm sure she has that, too. It's sad, but sometimes it's good so you can see who's with you. You can see who you really have to appreciate."

"This is not nice. Losing a fight, winning -- it happens. But these people make fun. ... I know it's not nice. I know she hurts now and I know depression."

"Always you can lose. You can lose, you can win. It's not embarrassing. It's embarrassing when you speak before you fight. It's embarrassing speaking bad. I think you have to work hard on what you say, because if you lose, when you come back from the airport you have to have a pillow on your face."

"I think she'd like to use this to challenge herself and get better. To come in and change. Something bad in life has to happen before you change and grow. I can't say anything bad about her. She's been good for women's MMA. She opened a lot of doors. I know I [fought] before her, but she had opportunities and she's handled it and helped everybody."

"I think she's an athlete. I think maybe she won't stop, she'll keep going. You can't care what people say. People can say what they say, but only you know. Only you and your family."

Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris 'Cybrog' Justino fights Daria Ibragimova on Saturday night in the main event of Invicta FC 15.

I've never been a big Cyborg fan, but these comments are on point.

Lol, stfu.

Go back to the Cyborg pic thread and spew some more shit at people.

regardless of the pillow statement, this was pretty cool of her.

Im sure Cris can empathize with those experiencing some negative Karma like RR. Say what you will about Cris, she has always come across to me as a very kind person.

When the cat mourns for the mouse, do not take her seriously.

Damn you Chris Cyborg! I am a Rousey fan, I will be the first to admit it. By definition I am supposed to be anti-Cyborg. Then you come out with a supportive statement like that... That is the kind of attitude that really hits a note with me. Very cool of you to say something like that and be supportive of a fellow fighter regardless of your history. Phone Post 3.0

This. The pillow statement is nothing compared to what ronda has said about her.

Cool of Cris to say this, sincerely
