Dominick Cruz will finally have a chance to regain the bantamweight title when he fights TJ Dillashaw this January in Boston. Cruz recently spoke to La Aflicion about the fight and what it means for the division:

"That's the champion at 135 right now. Got knocked out by Dodson. He's very very beatable, and that's been proven. You haven't proven a lot of ways to beat me since 2007, when I was 21 years old, working 40 hours a week while I was training."
"The only thing these guys have to hold on to in beating me, is the fact that I've been out for 4 years," he said. "That's what's going to be scary. I'm out 4 years, and I'm still going to beat you. So then what?"
I gotta say, I'm very entertained by Cruz's style of precision and argument based trash talking. I hope he can be at 100% would love him to be back for good
I had the opportunity to talk to Dominic for a few minutes at his hotel in Houston for 192. He's pumped and ready for this fight. And he's tired of people talking like TJ invented this whole new style that's unbeatable, when it's kind of modeled after his own. I like them both but am rooting for Cruz in this one. His 1-minute beatdown of Mizugaki after nearly three years away was incredible. I think, no wait, I know he has what it takes to be champ again. Not taking anything away from TJ, going to be a hell of a scrap.
King Of All Tenors - TJ's wrestling/takedowns will be the difference...U-D
When was the last time TJ has gone for a takedown? Serious question... Cruz mixes up his strikes with take down attempts seamlessly. Only Frankie and GSP have done it better, imo.
The track record of guys coming off lay offs/injuries are not good to say the least. If i wasn't so lazy I'd compile a list of fighters who return after a min 16 months and see what the track record is
