GSP: Already the GOAT IMO. But if he beats Khabib at 165 or 155 (or beats Tony if Tony beats Khabib), it’s beyond dispute.
Jones: Win the heavyweight strap.
If Askren beats Georges and Khabib, there will be interesting debates on here.
Interestingly, TJ is is incredible. But I’m not sure his weight class does him any favors. I guess Ortega and Holloway would in the mix if they bumped up and beat Khabib. But they need some more marquee wins, probably.

I say if he came back and finished Tyron Woodley, it’d be a greater accomplishment than beating Khabib at a lower weight-class.
In GSP’s case, yes, I think so.
GSP has nothing left to prove at 170. Greatest to ever compete in the weight class. Beat every type of fighter. Nothing can improve his status at the weight class.
He won a MW title. If he wins a LW title, it (1) makes his MW win more impressive, since it shows that he can compete all the way down at LW; (2) makes him the only 3 division champ in UFC history.
Zoot - GSP if he walked away tomorrow. When you line up the records, IMO there's no real contest. And I'm a HUGE fan of Fedor.

Cormier, while an incredible fighter, will always be compromised by his Jones losses.
Jones IMO was the GOAT before the implosions.
Fedor is an alltime great but the back half of his career has compromised him.

No fighter should be punished for their post-prime career. Not Silva, not Muhammed Ali, and not Fedor. If GSP lost 10 fights from tomorrow on, I’d still think he’s the GOAT. Big difference between being exposed and fighting too long.

Good point, Anderson is on my list because I really don’t care about his recent string of losses. Although I think DC is already in the conversation.
Ortega has a chance to go down in greatness. His stand up is ever improving. He koed frankie to be sure. His BJJ is up there with the most slick in the octagon. Especially how fast he locks down neck cranks and chokes. He has no fear and will fight anybody (that might be his downfall)
Halloway too, he all rounded and has no real deficits.
Khabib for sure. If he continues to fight and stays healthy. If not, he wont be mentioned imo. Especially his religion and opinions will bring ire from uneducated people. Who cannot separate his politics and religious leanings and his sporting accomplishment.
