Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg spoke recently with Ariel Helwani following her 45 second win over Faith Van Duin at Invicta FC 13 on Thursday.

"For this fight, I made 145 pounds easier than before. I feel great," said Cyborg as transcribed by Karim Zidan for BE. "I can talk with my fans [afterwards]. George Lockhart works so good with me. I trust his work and maybe we'll make 140 pounds next, but we don't discuss this. I try."
"I'd have to make 135 pounds in Invicta FC first (before I can move to the UFC)."
"I know everybody wants to watch this fight (vs. Rousey). Maybe it will be the same as Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, where we wait for five years. But after three years, I'm done. In three years, I want to get married and have babies."
The problem for her now is that RR just keeps getting better at striking. RR 2 years ago would have gotten destroyed.
Would she? Two years ago or two years from now, RR takes the fight to the ground. She's not standing with Cyborg regardless of when this fight takes place.

Oh yeah. I forgot that fights start on the ground now.

He didn't say that. He said "RR takes the fight to the ground." Takes the fight to the ground, not starts the fight on the ground. You even quoted him saying it.

I can understand the UFC wanting Cyborg to make 135 in Invicta once before putting the promotional machine behind a superfight with Rousey. I personally don't think the fight will ever happen at 135.. not because Cyborg can't physically make the weight, but more because I don't think she really wants to, as it could mean serious dieting and potential loss of muscle mass and severe dehydration to get there.
I also think there is a realistic possibility Cyborg could beat Rousey at 135, and then decide to retire or vacate the belt and go back up to 145. The UFC will be less likely to get behind a Rousey Cyborg fight at 135 if Cyborg has no intention of defending the belt, as it would leave the division in a weird spot, and devalue Rousey should she recapture the vacant belt.
More likely, I see the UFC offering Rousey a ton of money to take the fight at 140, with no belt on the line, and market it as a one-off superfight. It would sell just as much as if there were no belt on the line. Or, perhaps even more exciting, would be for the UFC to do Cyborg versus Rousey at 145 and crown the inaugural women's featherweight champion, and introduce a new division to the UFC. Just my two cents..

140 no title makes more sense.
No. Nothing but a fight at 135 and the winner continuing to fight at 135 makes any sense. Even if it was Gina Carano who took the fight.
