Cynthia Calvillo suspended 6 months by USADA after testing positive for marijuana at UFC 219. Suspension can be reduced to 3 months if she completes USADA approved "drug awareness" program.

Fucking dumb. I dont like her but its bullshit she got suspended for anything. As long as the fighter isnt high or drunk in the cage, who fucking cares?
Ryann Von Doom -That's the point, her numbers where so elevated that she more than likely was high during the fight.Fucking dumb. I dont like her but its bullshit she got suspended for anything. As long as the fighter isnt high or drunk in the cage, who fucking cares?

She popped for an IN competition test I think, that timeframe between weigh-ins and right after the fight.
Ridiculous that this is even tested for. Someone convince me that there is a reason the time, money and effort is wasted on testing for this.
Keep in mind that I can’t stand weed, think people are wasting their time destroying brain cells using it, and the only thing good about it is that sometimes it smells good.

its tested with a 180 cut off level, which means you have to smoke 1 day before to test positive (IC)

What I’m asking is WHY it’s tested? Is it considered and enhancer of some sort and presents and advantage? Is it considered a “risk” to an opponent in some convoluted way?
Or is it just a way to generate revenue through the fines?

One day before… as long as she’s not high in the cage, should be fine. But then again maybe she was because of that reaction to the decision lol
I have no sympathy for people who know the rules yet continue to break them.
Marijuana should be taken off the banned substance list.

you need to smoke a joint and chill the fuck out
its weed, maybe they should test for beer as well lol

Exactly… If it’s legal in the state they are fighting in, then they shouldn’t ban it.
agreed good point
I agree that testing for weed is silly, but this is essentially a slap on the wrist and will not impact her career. These days getting popped for cannabis might even help a fighters marketability.
well she only fights every 6 months so nbd

its a drug and a painkiller
Shit is super concentrated these days. Weed oil ect. Maybe it’s easier to fail if you are doing dabs a few days before weigh ins
Enough with the fuckin weed tests! These people aren’t high in the cage FFS... you think maybe they just wanna relax and get a good night sleep the night before a fight?? If a fighter uses marijuana to help them sleep, it would be AGAINST fighter safety to have them coming in with zero damn sleep a day after cutting weight. Between the IV ban and this stupid shit it’s like they wanna see the crappiest version of fighters possible.
