This has probably been going on for far too long then I care to think about and possibly with multiple women over the past decade... About 6 years ago my Mother received a phone call from a woman who confessed of having an affair with my Father. My Mom being the devout Born Again Christian she is lives with the heartbreak that my Father cheated on her but forgave him. Partially I think because she didn't want to tear the family apart and she really doesn't have any one to turn to even if she wanted to divorce him. They are both now 60 years old. He is a great Father but a terrible fucking husband - just doesn't give her the love and support she deserves and we can all see it and have been witnessing it for a long time.
I've been dealing with this knowledge for a long time and just want to get it off my chest.

Like I said he is a great Dad. He's supported me with everything I have ever done and loved me unconditionally. I'm 26 now and think this is way past due. I just need help on how to talk to him about the situation. I'm really just worried about my Mom if anything because she will be crushed if she hears about this again.
I wouldn't say anything. She likely knows since it has happened before and maybe is turning a blind eye. Or maybe she doesn't care anymore if he does it for whatever reason(s) - reasons you might not want to know.

Blue Duck - What's there to tell your mom that she doesn't already know? If she's rational then she's free to make her own choices. I would stay out of their affairs. But if you have to get involved, it sounds like your dad is the one you need to talk to; not your mom.
My guess is she figured he stopped after she received the phone call and she almost left him. I don't want to talk to my mom about it because she will have a really hard time dealing with the situation. I want to talk to my dad and tell him to stop fucking around on my mom. He thinks he is so smart... he leaves his phone unlocked with his messages readily available to read at will. My mom isn't tech savy enough to look in his phone.

i know this is likely a joke response but ive always hated this logic when people spout it. yeah there are circumstances where its a loveless marriage/relationship and the husband(or wife) screws around because they arent getting it at home. reality is though there's a shitload of reasons why people cheat. sometimes its even emotional(men included.)
theres plenty of people getting action at home and they still seek it out somewhere else. man or woman its irrelevant.
