Daidojuku Kudo

Just wanted to know what others think about the martial art, Daidojuku Kudo. I am currently in Japan and have been training in Kudo for 4 months now. I was wondering how much potential interest in Kudo schools and tournaments there might be in the US/Canada.

It's primarily Judo and Kyokushin Karate which also utilizes techniques from disciplines in Sambo, jiu jitsu, western boxing, Muay Thai, some submission wrestling.

the last link is for you AC/DC fans... :)

have competed. like mma better. the standups system and gnp rules feel artificial.

helmets make for sloppy defence imo.

Dan Wolfman Theodore competed last year in Japan. I think he is teaching it in Cali right now. I watched some of the videos he posted. It looks like fun and I wish there was some local comps I could try.

Hey Jorx.. curious did you train in Kudo? where to you train? and what belt were you when you competed? thnks

hey kidjustice... yes I was at the 2009 Worlds in Japan.. got to see some great fights!

Did you see Wolfman Dan fight?

 In late

 Love AC/DC

I had rudimentary training in BJJ / boxing / wrestling and decided to give it a go.

Lost in the first round to the guy (blue belt in Kudo) who later won the weightclass 2-0 (I still have no idea why i didn't get points for showing strikes from mount).

Pretty much the same as my brief foray into San Shou.
The fact I got third in the nationals was less a reflection on me and more on the level of talent

that shit looks fun...soooo can you just shoot a dub, slam a fucker and go mount to armbar?

can you hit the RNC with the mask on?

I'd LOVE to train in it. I know alot of Karate guys who are interested. It looks great for Ammy MMA & self defense. Any word on it spreading to the USA?

I did Daidou for about a year when I lived in Japan. Essentially Kyokushin til you get to brown but you still got to play a bit. Moved back to the states and as it happened, it was not even really heard of any where I happened to be.

It's the future of Karate

zendokai (japanese, NOT the australian style with the same name) -a offshot from daido juku.
They are pretty big in amateur MMA in japan.

Do you teach this style Wolfman?
If so where is your dojo?
Do you use kata?
Who did you train under?
Any word on it spreading in the USA?
