In fairness he took a lot of damage in that win against an older Bisping, who was coming over a 13 month layoff and retired that same month.
Hindsight is 20/20, I thought Bisping would beat GSP, because he himself was coming off a 4 year layoff, moving up a weight class. On that fight night it appeared GSP was actually the larger fighter.

I dunno, the majority of the UFC crowd doesn’t know him so to them he’s still “fresh”. And his body hasn’t really taken a lot of punishment due to his fighting style.
