But it aint WME, remember, the heavyweight title went to a guy that had 3 fights in his entire career including Ameture (if I remember right), and twice (at least) people had their title belts mailed to them and they were touted as UFC champions before they ever stepped foot into the octagon.

Gegard is right up there in the upper echelon of the world class fighters, and as you will find in the interview clip posted above by Non N00B he has a great personality, very forthcoming, not delusional, intelligent, funny, but somehow this doesn't fit into your six pack analogy?
The UFC can push whoever the fuck they wan with the PR machine, and it would be cool if they started pushing the most skilled fighters in the sport, rather than creating a bunch of fucking loudmouths by telling guys to go out there and make some noise and talk shit to sell their own fights. When guys like McGregor, Sonnen, Ali come along they are great for the sport, and they can take themselves to higher heights, but that doesn't mean you should encourage everybody to try and replicate them or you end up wiith a bunch of goofballs trying to make noise, i.e. Jeremy Stephens.

And robbed vs. King Mo.
He might be the only fighter to demolish his opponent from his back and lose, certainly by today's standards that's a win.
Machida cheated his ass off to pull out that decision.
He has dominated a who's who of current stars and champions.
If all was right on earth, his record would be standing at 44-4-1 at least, with two of those losses being prehistoric, and Jacare being the only clean "legit" loss, and with less rules, Mousasi KO'd him earlier.
Jacare and Mousasi should be jockeying for that title with others dropping in for shots.
Those are the top two Middleweights on earth.
Any lack of personality you perceive is the the failure of the promoters to do their job.
