Condom Depot.com
its a fact
so all the blue namers concur this is true
I think pretty much every sports league has to approve of sponsors that advertise at their events.
remember the guys that used to paint the gambling logos on their backs?
it was boxing but i approve
let them make their $ for their entirely 2 short careers
NO NO NO!!!!
Dana is the only one who is supposed to make money.
it would make sense that he or something in the UFC would have to approve of a certain sponsor
or else then anyone can have anything...hell, they could have K1 or Dream as a sponsor on the shorts
but yeah, lol@condomdepot.com
Promotions must approve sponsors. Mostly to make sure there aren't any conflicts and a little bit to be dicks. For example: Xyience was the only approved supplement sponsor for quite a while.
And Xyience went belly up
The NFL also does this, Urlacher was fined 50 g's for wearing a Vitamin Water hat at the super bowl.
Hmmm... so these huge sponsors wanted nothing to do with Tito unless he could wear their brand(s) in front of a paying UFC audience?
2007- Tito fought once
2006- He fought 4 times (Ken twice, Forrest and Chuck)
2005- once
2004- twice
2003- once
2002- once
Mike, did he say WHEN the UFC shot his sponsors request(s) down and what kind of company/ies they were? To me, it is irrelevant how much the opportunity is for because it shouldn't matter. A brand/company is either eligible and fits within the guidelines stated in the fighters contract or they aren't.
Refer to one of Zuffa's recent published court documents (I think it dealt with Affliction, not positive though) for the standard legal mumbo jumbo pertaining to what is allowable at their weigh-in and live events.
If a supplement company is a sponsor of a UFC event and are paying big bucks for an exclusive arrangement it makes perfect sense that Zuffa cannot allow a competing vendor/brand to share the spotlight. Some arrangements are NOT exclusive (some apparel brands for example) which is why you will see more than one brand in the house.
It's common sense, really.
Cindy
I doubt Bud or Harley want Henniken or Yamma sponsorship ads all over the place..

Zuffa should givethe fighters a monthly salary and monthly training stipends so the fighters don't have to rely on sponsors to make end's meet.
....
