Authority Figure - But wait, I thought Bellator was a second tier organization and all the best guys were in the UFC?
Oh, that was bullshit. Nevermind.
I took Dana babbling on people like Lombard and Reem to mean that they're very impressive fighters, but (in Lombard's case) beating Prangley, Vitale and Jesse Taylor doesn't get you into the Top 10.
crazydave - He will get exposed pretty quick. Kyle Noke gave him all he could handle to a draw and he wasnt exactlly begging for a rematch. A very green Tehuna lost by injury.
Have him rematch one of those.
That fight was almost 5 years ago. Lombard wrecks Noke now. With that being said, Hector's gonna have trouble with a lot of guys in the big show. Good to see he might finally get his chance though.
( I remember when he was signed to fight at WW and visa problems kept him out, A WW Lombard would have been something to see.)
Lombard is top 7 at 185.. He would lose to Anderson, and have trouble with Chael, Bisping. I think he can KO Vitor, and same for Palhares (Lombard is probably stronger and can avoid getting taken down
j2b - Havent beaten anyone, barely top 15-20 at best..
He's beaten Brian Ebersole, Jared Hess and Alexander Shlemenko at the very least. They're somebodies to be sure.
Not to mention a number of UFC veterans like Jay Silva, Falaniko Vitale, Jay Silva, Joe Doerksen, Jessie Taylor, Trevor Prangley, and Kalib Starnes. Those guys may not be world beaters, but they were solid fighters and Lombard obliterated them. He's a bottom of the top 10 guy in my book.
I don't think he's going to come in and beat Anderson, but he'll be a handful for anybody in the division.
Unfortunately he has a reputation for being a bit of a bully, so a big part of me wants to see him get handled. At the same time, I think fighters from other orgs like Bellator get disrespected so much by some fans that I'd like to see any former Bellator/Strikeforce/WEC/etc fighter do well.
MMALOGIC - You're not getting out of a bellator contract... that's why camps, coaches and agents send their second string to bellator.
That second part is nonsense. Ben Askren, Eddie Alvarez, Michael Chandler, the Pitbull brothers, Hector Lombard, Eduardo Dantes, etc, etc are second string?
He would be a nice addition to MW, but I dont see him making a huge impact. Might be able to get into the top 10, but I think there are a lot of fighters that can beat him before he gets a title shot, Silva, Belfort, Sonnen, Bisping, Belcher to name a few.
These guys know what's up, my family owned tree farms and they always thinned to protect against fires like this. Thinning is good but tree huggers throw a fit.
George bush flew over fires in a plane and saw the difference between thinned average and non thinned acreage when it was burning and he supported tree farmers thinning.
rosario00 - Lombard is top 7 at 185.. He would lose to Anderson, and have trouble with Chael, Bisping. I think he can KO Vitor, and same for Palhares (Lombard is probably stronger and can avoid getting taken down
Not stronger but take down defense matters little Paul pulls guard. Example. Fight vs mazensio. He beats guys with the exact moves they specifically train to defend for months.
