Dana = Vince McMahon

Guy is a joke.

Clever. I dont even like Tito. Doesnt change the fact Dana is Vince.

"Clever. I dont even like Tito. Doesnt change the fact Dana is Vince"

yep,and i always give dana credit for not trying to reinvent the wheel.

He isnt really a billionairre?

Thats a good point. Eric Bischoff it is.

LOL at taking a pro wretsling company, a sport-entertainment thing that has bee popular and mainstream for many decades.....

.....as being more impressive as taking a company that's doing horrible and a sport that is NOT mainstream by nature, and turning it into something mainstream, attracting better athletes, actually giving MMA fighter million dollar paydays, and IT'S ONLY BEEN A FEW YEARS !!!

UFC not only had competition from OTHER MMA promotions, but from important people involved w/ boxing, politicians, etc.

Since Dana has come on board he's basically crushed or bought out the competition, has gone legit w/ the boxing commisions, and even Senator McCain has said that the new UFC is indeed a sport and deserves respect and legality, unlike the old , no longer on PPV, UFC's

Actually, i kinda like dana after this...

SKARHEAD, Vince built pro wrestling into what it is today. When he took over for his dad there were many orgs spread out through the country, he ran through them ALL, brought it to PPV, and made billions. Read up a bit.

Let's not get carried away with Dana here. His biggest accomplishment was getting his near billionaire best friends to buy into his idea of the UFC. You don't think near billionaires from operating casinos have lots of clout especially in Vegas with the athletic commissions and politicians?

He's an Eric Bischoff playing with Ted Turner's money.

Vince took his father's successful company almost handed to him (he spent $1 million, most of which was in the company treasury for a company that grossed $10 million per year, think about that) and took over a fake sport that had been flourishing in this country for 100 years and was a TV staple everywhere.

Dana took something underground with no television, and in five years, was beating Vince McMahon handily at his own game, which is the pay per view business.

Anderson fucking Silva vs. Travis Lutter beat the Royal Rumble by 100,000 buys.

Eric Bischoff had TV, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Macho Man, Piper, all established national stars and ran his company out of business in five years.

To say there is no comparison between Dana White and Eric Bischoff is putting it mildly.

Besides, now, Vince is spending stockholders money and Dana is spending his friends money.

Please, Vince revolutionized wrestling. Then mainstreamed the shit out of it with toys, box movie sets, etc. The UFC, being real and all, is just a better product.

Wrestling was mainstream long before Vince McMahon Jr. had anything to do with it. Do your homework.

TV ratings were bigger in the 50s, 60s and 70s and even early 80s than they are today.

He wasn't even the first to take it national. Billy Sandow in the 20s and Jim Barnett in the 50s did it, and Barnett's guys were bigger national stars like Thesz, Rogers, Gagne and Gorgeous George on network prime time TV.

He was the first in the U.S. to merchandise it, but that was just copying Inoki in Japan who was doing the same thing 15 years earlier.

Those names were not bigger than the ones Vince brought to the stage, period. His stars became box office stars. And he wasn't the first to take it nationally, but he was the first to take it global. He then was the first to bring it into syndication, where it really started making money. As for Inoki, Vince was behind many of his ventures, including the match with Ali. Soon after he bought the company from his dad he had the promotion running on 30 stations, way more than any before him.

Gorgeous George wasn't bigger than today's stars. Gorgeous George was the biggest star on television in the 50s. Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin were never close to being the biggest TV stars in the country.

Inoki was promoting around the world long before McMahon.
Italy, Pakistan, India, Russia, Abu Dhabi, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Japan, Brazil, Malaysia.

Barnett promoted internationally long before McMahon.

Vince invented syndication? Where you did pick that up from. Some WWE fake history book? Syndicated wrestling dates back to the 50s. Vince McMahon was given daddy's company in 1982.

Vince McMahon was the best wrestling promoter of all of them. Dana White is the best MMA promoter of all of them. White built something from nothing. McMahon built something from a multi-million dollar super popular company daddy owned and gave him.

How did he build something from nothing when he had his friends millions at his disposal? And is there anyone here who really doubted the potential of MMA? He didnt have some breakthrough idea, just buddies with the resource to finance it. And again, if you can't see what a powerhouse the WWE has become compared to past orgs youre only fooling yourself.

You are still compering a very succesfull promoter to a very succefull promoter.

They both did very well with what they had.

Dana is our MMA boy, so we should love him more.

vinnie mac is the man

$700 or $800 million from wrestling ???

i'd love to see dana make that money by himself for himself

Dana will coach one team in TUF6, Donald Trump another. Losing coach loses his hair.
