DANA: WEC "10 Times BETTER THAN PRIDE"!

--Dana White's quote of the day in USA Today: "The WEC has actually turned out to be 10 times the product Pride ever was." Whoa! And "There are, honestly, no guys outside of the UFC that I'm interested in right now. When I say that, I mean in other organizations."

WTF, PRIDE LIVES FOREVER IN MY HEART! Your words will never take that from me DANA!!!

Maybe he meant the WEC was just 10 times cheaper - and they didn't feel the need to sue the former owners to get their money back, like they're doing now with Pride.

Or maybe he meant "The WEC has actually turned out to be 10 times the product Pride ever was" - for Zuffa themselves.

In that case, it would have been hard for any acquisition NOT to have "actually turned out to be 10 times the product" that Pride turned out to be for Zuffa - since the product itself disappeared after they bought it.

10 times zero would still be zero.

Damning with faint praise.

Dana really means that the WEC was 10 times the better bargain that Pride was for Zuffa - and that Zuffa is 10 times more satisfied with that transaction than they ended up being with Pride (where they got stiffed).

 blasphemy

Dana is a straight up lying D-Bag. If you havent realized that you are either a moron or you havent been around the sport long enough.

What a productive exercise - Get in a tizz over the Manager of a company hyping his product.

That bald cocksucker needs to shut his mouth, call Pride lame.

terrys - TRUE

Pride was a fixed pile of shit.

Tell that to Ken Shamrock and his fabulous trip diving abilities.

Just yesterday I was watching a Pride event from a few years ago. The main event was Sakuraba vs Shannon Ritch. Somebody is seriously going to tell me that Pride was better than the UFC today?

^ Shhh, most people had forgotten about that lol.

Can you imagine if UFC EVER had Shannon Ritch as a main event? Bahaha, you would literally never hear the end of it.

The biggest fight the WEC has ever had so far is probably Faber-Curran, and will now be Faber-Pulver.

Neither one of those matchups would have been even the 5th most significant fight on certain Pride mega-cards.

Bill Pharoni - "Just yesterday I was watching a Pride event from a few years ago. The main event was Sakuraba vs Shannon Ritch."

- The UFC earlier that same year had a main event of Tedd Williams-Steve Judson.

LOL @ Dana

Its safe to say Dana may be a little biased and by biased i mean delusional

I posted this on the other thread on this same topic as well:

The last big event Pride put on in Japan was for NYE 2006 - which featured the following fights:

Fedor-Hunt

Nog-Barnett

Kawajiri-Melendez

Gomi-Ishida

Aoki-Hansen

Shogun-Nakamura

Now the WEC is great - but they've never even come close to putting on an event like that in terms of established top fighters and lasting significance.

In fact, all of the WEC events combined so far probably haven't even had as much impact or as many top name fighters as were on that one Pride card alone.

Faber-Pulver would have been at best the 6th biggest matchup on that card.

Even UFC 84 - which was without question the best UFC card in the post-TUF era, easily - didn't have as many big names and established top fighters matched up against each other than that last big Pride card did.

The ufc puts on a great show. Why Dana has to stoop to putting down an organization that doesn't even exist is beyond me.

sounds about right.

sometimes it's better to say nothing at all

LOL

And sometimes its better to take your bald head and manly physique and toss it over the side of a building.

Why does Dana speak
