Dana was on the Ferrall show on Howard 101 the other day. He said something that was rather interesting. Talking about the Gonzaga-CroCop fight, he was mentioning how Rogan and Randy both had picked Gonzaga to win, which we all know already.
Then he said that he believes Couture would beat Cro Cop too. When asked why, he said that he and others have been of the opinion that the fighters in Japan have been over-rated for years, and now that they bought Pride out we are going to be finding this out.
He did talk about wanting to sign Fedor and I'm sure he gives Fedor all the props, but I was somewhat blown away by his other comment, considering how it always seemed like the majority of UG'ers said that Pride was deeper and better.

Dana should run the organization and stop being the PR person also. Bad for business imo.
I wouldn't call it bashing. There might have been a smug, "I told you so" underneath his breath. The conversation was in the context of what a shock it was to the viewers, yet it wasn't a shock to some that were in the know.

I think he's not bashing so much as pushing his own fighter, Gonzaga.
What he's probably thinking is "why didn't anyone in Pride try the whole 'circle left' tactic with Cro-Cop?'"
He sent 2 guys in who both showed that it can work, yet in Pride we saw guys like Barnett and Nog going right at him the whole time. It's probably why Dana likes Fedor. He's the only guy in Pride who also did this.

lol, not me dude. I clicked on this thread cause I thought it might have been some announcement for an upcoming bout or something like that. The only time I'll listen to Dana is mabye when he's making some prefight comments, etc.
Personally I think Cro Cop just got caught with his guard down. He underestimated the kick coming in. It appears that he moves to block his shoulder and the kick comes in higher.
I'd love to see a rematch, but Dana said that there was some ankle ligament and knee damage on Mirko. I wonder how long he will be out.
I think it's more that the UFC HW's were underrated as opposed to Pride HW's being overrated.
