He's mad that Matt was even on the Helwani show. He doesn't want fighters to promote themselves, only when a fight is coming up.
What kind of shit is that?
MM has one of the best personalities of the sport, I enjoy hearing him. It hypes me up for whenever he fights next. What about Chael Sonnen and any other UFC fighter who Zuffa pays to do commentary and express their opinions?
I think Zuffa is trying to strong arm their employees. Trying to keep them quiet because heaven forbid they make some fans who would follow them outside of the UFC.
How is a fighter doing a FREE interview going to be a bad thing all the time? What if a fighter is paid to do an interview, if he doesn't have a fight coming up is Zuffa going to prevent him from making money?
It did come across that Mitrione referred to a group of people as "disgusting freaks" (even though he said he was only referring to Fox, it doesn't hold much weight, as it is too coincidental that only the transexual gets referred to as a 'disgusting freak'. I mean, we all know what he means right? If he would have called any other fighter that, that wouldn't be cool, right?)
It was normal for white americans to call inter-racial children this in the 60's, and if Mitrione would have called an inter-racial child a "disgusting freak" in 1967, he "shouldn't be censored because that's what everyone thinks, anyway" is what your logic is, right? No, both things are fucked-up hate speech, and this is why children in the LGBT community have such high suicide rates. It's easy to then follow this up by saying that all the bigoted people with their bigoted-comments all have some blood on their hands, and shouldn't be supported. Can someone disagree with a transexual man-to-woman competing against a woman? Sure. But, that doesn't give you the right to be an abusive, insulting, degrading asshole about it.
Also, if the opponent of a transexual - in any form of competition - is cool with their transexual opponent, then that's all that matters. It's consensual, and there's nothing more to say about it.

I think the implied distinction is Fox is a transexul whose making a career out of beating females. And this is a career choice she didn't seriously pursue, until she had the option of fighting females.
Judging by the fact that he referred to her as a man without a dick or a he, it's clear he's not going to be the most understanding towards transexuals, but I think it's very clear what aspect of Fox's life set him off
I also think you're unfair to compare his comments to racism, in fact I know they're nonequivalent. One situation is judging a person by the traits he was born with, traits he can do nothing about.
The other is judging a person by his actions and his behavior -- regardless of whether or not you agree with that judgement.
For me, Transgenders bring out an emotion I can only adequately describe as tolerance. I wish no ill will to them, I hope they get all the rights others have, and I hope they can live the way they want to live. But I will not endorse the behavior nor will I pretend it's anything but deviant in my opinion. I dislike the DSM not considering it a mental illness, because I think it's unhealthy behavior. I don't think it's behavior that should be fixed, I feel they should get to do wtv the fuck they want, but clearly something is wrong if you're miserable with your own physicality -- not unlke someone with body dysmorphia or anorexic tendancies imo
I hate people who consider homosexuals or bisexuals or any difference in personality/sexuality as deviancy or mental illness because it's close minded imo. But the difference with the rest of the acronym in LGB-T, is three of those letters represent people who are fully able to live with themselves.
I don't think you can judge someone for who they want to fuck, how they want to dress or how they want to act, but if the only way for a person to live comfortably is to self-mutilate and to alter their own body, then clearly something isn't right. If you'd be unable to live healthily and happily without today's medical advances, and would be miserable without the ability to completely game your body's endocrine system, then either your physicality is pathological or your mentality/affectations are pathological. I personally wouldn't consider a perfectly healthy human body pathological so the dissonance in identity must be a pathology of the mind imo
I don't mean mental illness in the sense that transexuals are any less intelligent, I don't think they're any more likely to do harm or be bad people, and I don't think they're necessarily any different with regards to habits or general behavior, but the simple fact that they have to alter their bodies for any measure peace speaks volumes to me.
And quite frankly, if the only way to cope with those mental issues is to have gender re-assignment surgery, more power to you, but don't expect everyone to get behind it. Everyone should respect it, but people shouldn't have to support it. Only tolerate it imo

Typical big company power trip bullshit.
Dana may just be the messenger on this one.
This is the same company that was all gung ho about twitter bonuses so clearly they don't mean that shit, if they even said it lol They're all for constant promotion as long as it isn't getting them in shit.
Considering what I'd speculate about BLAF's personality, and considering his past expriences with less-than-PC words like Faggot, I'd expect him to be very sympathetic to Mitrione's situation and comments.
What I'm hoping for is this turns into one of those slap on the wrist suspensions where Mitrione is free to fight, by the time his fight would've been scheduled anyways.
He does a little backpedaling and community service, then gets back in good graces once he's had a fight and everyone forgets about this because Rogan or BLAF have already made another questionable comment for the Culinary Union to circle jerk to
Sorry for the post-rape, but to clarify what I mean by judging a person by physical traits he can do nothing about Vs. actions or opinions he has...
What Mitrione did isn't the equivalent of calling a black, "disgusting freak."
It would be the equivalent of name-calling a white guy who hated the fact that he was white so badly, it ruined his life and caused immense confusion in his own racial identity.
Such confusion that he eventually had plastic surgery to permanently black-face his body. Then went on to identify with himself as a black man, despite the fact that neither his skin nor genetics were naturally black.
Furthermore, because he identified with being a black man, he didn't feel it necessary to inform people he was born white, and went around applying for minority loans, scholarships and other institutions normally reserved for African-Americans because, hey, he's now a black if he identifies with blacks. And if you think he should at least disclose his history because his unique situation might preclude certain benefits, well fuck you.
"It's one of those things, it's just a pain in the ass, you know what I mean?" White said. "First of all, he didn't even need to be doing an interview. And I'm going to talk to these guys. I'm going to talk to these guys. The only time these guys really need to be doing interviews is leading up to fights. You know? It ended up being a nightmare for him."
"What was the point of that interview?" White continued. "There was no point in it. Now it's caused him a bunch of headaches and problems. It's caused us a bunch of headaches and problems for no reason whatsoever."
"He had just fought. He wouldn't fight again for another few months and he's still over there enjoying himself in Sweden, what was the point in doing that interview? What was the upside in that interview? There was none. No upside."
it was a misunderstanding, he wasn't making any general statements towards the LGBT community ... he was clearly arguing his point within the context of a man fighting a woman and Fox failing to disclose her past. He is not the first one to take that point of view. Sure, Mitrione could have been a little more articulate to leave no doubt about it, but just because it sounded more crass doesn't change the meaning of what he said. Plus it's unfair that this may result in the public thinking he has a certain viewpoint that he may not even have.
Personally, i consider Matt Hughes calling Fox an "it" to be way more offensive to the transgender community, and that's fine, people should say what they feel, but if the UFC is going to implement a certain policy, then in this case, Hughes should fall under the suspension umbrella too (and in reality, Mitrione not at all).
Dana: We pay Mark Hunt a 6000 base salary, he should shutup and never try to make a brand out of himself between fights. He should be happy with potentially only making 6000 every 6 months. HURR DURR DURR DURR!!!!!
On my first point how much longer is the UFC going to disrespect a title contender with a "Pride Rollover contract"? Hunt has fought 5 times in the UFC now, what, did he sign his life to that Pride contract? Ever heard about re-negotiating for someone who is a hell of a lot better draw and fighter than let's say
Must not be freedom of speech when your with zuffa, i guess you must become robot or slave in order to please dana white. No opinion allowed, lessen its the same az masta dana.
