Damage means effective striking......why is that so hard to comprehend? Point fighting may have its place.....but if you point fight, you better come out at the end looking like Bisping or Cruz....not like a truck ran over you, you got caught in the axle, dragged for 100 feet, break free.....only to have truck drop into reverse and run over you again.
Bendo damaged Frankie with more effective striking....Edgar pitter pattered, got some takedowns that he did nothing with....and rightfully lost his title.

That's the way I see it. There was a huge difference in power among the two that is reflected in the fighters' condition. Benson's strikes were much more effective than Edgar's. Watching the fight, I had Benson winning 4 rounds to 1 and I can't believe anyboy could think Edgar the winner.

The fact that anyone could think Edgar won just shows how distorted people's view of what is effectively fighting has become by these retarded rules and moronic judges which we've become accustomed too. According to these guys barely touching someone counts as much as a hard strike and a takedown that lead to nothing (except the guy landing it nearly getting guillotined or the guy getting taken down standing up 10 seconds later) is, in their imaginary world, worth more than a hard punch or kick. No way Edgar won anything but the 1st round.

Exactly. I gave Edgar credit for finishing Maynard last time but it was really an anomally in his style which is not condusive to finishing at all. Edgar is tough but he is one of the purest pointfighters in the sport and doesn't look to win the fight, so much as find ways to alienate the rules to win over the clueless judges and get the rounds. That's why he's a poor finisher who rarely even threatens his opponents and has the longest average fight time in the UFC. That's also why he's involved in so many controversial decisions. It's not worthy of a champion.
