News about UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was expected to come this week, but with the days winding down, mum seems to be the word.
UFC President Dana White, when reached via text, said he could not comment on anything regarding the champion's health and re-evaluation.
"Brock asked me not to talk about it," he said. "I have to respect that."
When asked if he could make any statement at all about Lesnar, White was again uncharacteristically silent.
"No comment," he said. "First time in nine years I have ever said that."

The silence says alot.
Best Wishes to Brock and his family. May he have a speedy and full recovery.

Silence really does say a lot. Here's hoping Brock a speedy recovery, whether he returns to MMA or not.
Hope Brock recovers soon but I don't understand all the secrecy. Does he have AIDS?

So how much longer is this going to drag on for? What's going on with the title and shit.
edit: agreed with the poster above me, what's with the secrecy? hell, i can respect the confidentiality but at least settle the whole belt situation.

Yeah but it wasn't official iirc. Or has it been confirmed for good now?

No worries, i'm not 110% sure either on the whole thing, i've seen some people say it's just a rumour and others act like it's completely official.
I honestly don't really care about whatever disease or problem Brock has, but you gotta clear the belt situation.
he ate too many horseshoes
I reported the story in the OP. If it was up to Brock, no one would know anything about his condition, but Dana feels he has a responsibility to the fans to keep them in the loop, which is why he has been passing along info up to now. I was surprised at his no comment after his openness up til now. At this point you just have to hope the best for Brock. And re: the steroids comment, Dr. Johnny Benjamin wrote a column on MMAJunkie.com yesterday saying there has never been any correlation of steroids leading to diverticulitis, so let's put that to bed right now.

nobones - The dude just had a really bad diet probably ate infected venison or some shit. He wrecked his GI system but was so strong and healthy otherwise he was still able to function as a high performance athlete. Even if he came back, he won't eat as much as he used to and will lose a ton of size and strength. Just won't be the monster he used to be. I was wondering the same thing: Does diet (a lot of hunting related meat) affect or cause Diverticulitis?

Hope Brock can fully recover.
hopefully he'll get better soon
Brock finally got Dana to shut his yap. He probably took him aside and gave him a talking-to that made the Coors Light affair look like a friendly chat.
