Dana White speaks on year 2006

Dana White said on one of the mma radio shows that He's working on getting 12 Live Fight Cards on Spike TV in 2006, because as of right now UFC has 6 Live Fight Cards a Year Deal with Spike TV...

IF everything goes as plan, the UFC's 155 pound division will be back

AND also...

12 Ultimate Fight Nights on Spike TV
6 UFC PPV's

OR IF the 12 LIVE Fight Cards on Spike TV in 2006

I heard this on PKW radio

How much UFC is too much UFC?

-jk

Well, saturday's live show drew huge numbers, so this is certainly possible. Great news!

How about getting "A list" fighters and tourneys???

Unless they're held over multiple cards like the ill-fated UFC LW tournament, fuck tourneys.

One fighter under 155lbs that i want to see in the UFC is Mark Hominic from Canada, an incredible and devistating fighter.

I saw saw Hominic train awhile back. His kicks were SCARY and the dude is like 130lbs lol

"How about getting "A list" fighters and tourneys???"

For every event it has to be filled with A-list fighters? Is it like that in any other sport?

Hominick fights at 145, his teammate Sam Stout is just as imppressive with his standup (fought in K-1 I think) and he fights at 155 (Just won the TKO LW Belt by KO).

I am busting the UFC's balls because they seemingly stepped backwards, imo.  I would prefer more world class fighters.

Who doesn't like tourneys.  The UFC is long overdue for one.

"How much UFC is too much UFC?"

WHAT!!!

Fuck Tourneys, they only really work in Limited Striking events like Zst or Rings.

More often than not, they raise questions about how a fight really would have went if there wasn't a fight before it (Quinton x Silva, Mino x Fedor 2) and cause a lot of unnecessary noise and clamoring for rematches.

"Yeah, the ill-fated UFC LW tournament is a great example of why tournaments should be held over multiple cards. LOL."

Don't be simple, that tourney was set up fine. It had an undesirable ending due to the draw, but that doesn't mean there was anything wrong with the setup or participants.

Same day tournaments have passed their time. I want to see the fighters in a fair fight at their best. Kai is right on point here, same day tournaments have way too many variables and do not appeal to me at all anymore.

I like the idea of tournaments taking place over a few cards. Like the LW tournament, and the Road To the HW Championship back in the day..... although they both had dissapointing and controversial endings.

I wish they would've had an 8 man tournament to crown the MW champion instead of just randomly putting Tanner and Terrell in the cage for the title.

"How much UFC is too much UFC?"

I think more than 6 PPVs a year would be too much. Right now things are good. The month there is no PPV is when I get the bill from the last PPV. There is balance there.

As far as tv, the answer is none...none too much. TUF introduces you to fighters. Live tv events are exciting and build their names and advances them in rankings to create buzz and a draw for PPVs.

Typical UG:

oh there aren't enough UFC shows on tv or ppv, bitch bitch bitch

NOW:

that's to many shows, bitch bitch bitch

I reread this thread and didn't see any bitching until the previous post.

FYI - Our question of the week on PKW: Would you like to see current or former UFC stars take part in TUF 4? Email your replies prior to PKW's upcoming broadcast to Greg@Prokarateweekly.com (5 PM Wed cut off) or live during the show to email@Sportstalknetwork.com. If your email is read on the air, you'll qualify for this weeks PKW Prize Pack...

Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin will be live guests tonight as well. If you got questions for them...send em!

I`d be watching.

"If everything goes as plan, the UFC's 155 pound division will be back"

that ship has sailed.

Kawajiri, Gomi, Hansen, Edwards, Pulver, Sakurai, Kid, Sudo, Azeredo.....

The only top ten 155 left is Josh Thomson.

The UFC's 155 division would be even worse than their HW division and PRIDE's MW division.
