Just read the article about the UFC getting out of the out of competition testing business and letting the commissions handle it. I can't say it's out of character, but I am disappointed to see Dana throw his own legal department under the bus publicly like that
He says a lot things that I shrug off as personality management and negotiating with fighters. Not things I would do, but reasonable. Airing dirty laundry about guys inside your own corporation though is low and speaks to poor professional ethics.
I generally agree, though I don't recall him saying it was in-house counsel. It very well could have been outside counsel retained for this purpose.
If that's the case, I'm not at all surprised they were thrown under t'e bus.
guy will throw anyone and everyone under the bus
Team GDP -There's a lot of fucking buses coming his way. Naturally he wants to survive by throwing others under them.

vaginal tear -It occurred to me that this was a tactic to prepare to shift blame for their other legal problems onto their legal team. Makes more sense if it was out of house counsel.Team GDP -There's a lot of fucking buses coming his way. Naturally he wants to survive by throwing others under them.

Throwing in house teams under the bus publicly is just really bad form.
I've generally considered him to be a bit unorthodox and certainly a ruthless businessman. But I've also always respected him as a professional. This move was disappointing to say the least.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you post the source to this topic? Im interesting, thank you.

But they did fuck up, which is why they lifted the suspension without it even making it to the appeal process.
Kind of just stated the obvious

One is saying we as an organization own out mistakes. The other is airing dirty laundry
Think of it in football terms. Big difference between the coach or QB saying "we just didn't execute the way we wanted to and made several mistakes." And "the offensive line fucked up and jacked us" or "we would have won if the defensive coordinator wasn't a dumbass."

The buses keep coming because they saw one get a carrot fed by the Nogueira brothers.
Somebody should Photoshop Dana throwing people under the bus.
wormiwalkinstik - I always liked Dana for being a straight shooter...But he does shoot off to much bullshit out of ignorance
whenever did he take responsibility for something?
which is a part of your job as a CEO.
egg of greed.
Is it?

That's a silly analogy. It's a business, not a sports team. This thread is stupid.
Corporate leaders constantly demand that their employees be accountable and "take ownership" over their decisions and actions. Once, just once, I would like to hear a CEO or the highest leadership come out and state: "We made a stupid decision and that stupid decision harmed innumerable people. We demand accountability and I expect it of myself, too. As the leader, I am responsible for what happens in this organization." Of course, that isn't corporate culture in America in 2015. That would require some honor and balls. Instead, blame and sacrifice those underneath you.
What was that sign on Truman's desk?
What about the part where he fucked up by blasting the poor guy publicly before letting the situation play out a little longer? That's not the legal teams fault
Poor legal team :(
Did everybody notice, he threw Lorenzo too?
Lorenzo wanted the suspension of Cung Le raised to 12 months than Cung Le fought back with his legal team.

So did Dana throw his legal team under the bus for Jon Jones?
