RIO DE JANEIRO -- The Ultimate Fighting Championship is the biggest MMA organization in the world today, and Dana White doesn’t see Bellator as a competitor.
During UFC 168 media day Sunday, the UFC president said ZUFFA would never buy Bellator since "there’s no value" to them.
"There's nothing there," White told the media. "If you look at any other company we ended up buying in the past, there was value. There's no value to that company whatsoever."
Since Dana White and the Fertitta brothers took over the UFC, they have bought companies like Pride, World Extreme Cagefighting and Strikeforce, but he doesn’t see a reason why he would do the same with Bjorn Rebney’s promotion.
"If you look at Pride, look at all the contracts we got from Pride, all the guys that came over," he said. "Look at Pride’s library. Amazing library, with some of the most talented fighters of all times. When we bought (World Fighting Alliance), we bought it because Rampage had a contract with them. When we bought Strikeforce, we bought their library. Just the fights we had with Nick Diaz alone were worth buying that company."
That is why there is no value. The price to get it would be too much. Obviously if it sold for some ridiculous low amount they would buy it, but it's true that there would be no value for the price.

I've definetly watched a lot more bellator fights over ufc fights because of convenience. If ufc didn't change it's channel every fucking 6 months maybe I could keep up with it.

Yeah in Canada they show the fights on sportsnet 360 a premium channel now so to watch free UFC you have to have the most expensive cable package lol, well with my provider anyway.
Dana is right. I enjoy watching bellator and I'm a fan that supports them. But the talent levels are insanely different between the two orgs. Bellators most dominate champ came to the ufc and went like 1-2 then dropped weight classes.
It's a true statement but people hate Dana White so they will bicker about it.
Those other organizations built up fighters that people actually thought (albeit in some cases they were correct) could contend with the best of the UFC. Outside of maybe 3 people Bellator doesn't have a roster worth buying yet
He is right that their library isnt worth much to them and if we are being honest they dont really have any superstar fighters. Sure getting talent like Chandler, Curran, Askren, Dantas, Storm and prospects would be great but thats nothing like the guys they got from Pride or SF. Pride/SF libraries were much greater and they got bigger name star contracts.
Bellator would just eliminate their nearest rival and they would scoop up some really good talented prospects and a few top 10 fighters like Pitbull, Chandler, Curran, Askren.
Its also a diss since they arent selling so saying they arent worth buying is a way to shit on them.
Fryedtakyama owns me, it's normal - Dana is right. I enjoy watching bellator and I'm a fan that supports them. But the talent levels are insanely different between the two orgs. Bellators most dominate champ came to the ufc and went like 1-2 then dropped weight classes.
Not talent level but star level. Bellators biggest fighters on the roster are two washed up former UFC legends.
Even though Chandler, Dantas, Curran and Askren are great fighters who all would be top 10 in teh UFC none of them are big name stars. Is Chandler any bigger of a name than Jim Miller is? Is Dantas a bigger name to the casual fan than Brad Pickett? Bellator has talented young fighters but they are largely unknown to the casual fans.
Dana is so childish, and it's unfortunate with these petty jabs at those who dare try to compete with him, so many talented fighters like Fedor and all the actual really talented guys from Bellator who risk their health to entertain people and make a little money, have to get in the crossfire.
WFA had value to them because they had Rampage, but Bellator doesn't with Chandler, Curran, Dantas, Alvarez, Lima, Askren, Pitbull, Mo, Shlemenko, etc., etc., etc.?!?! Shut your perpetually lying mouth Dana White. You won't buy Bellator, because you can't. Viacom has too much money to be willing to sell, and you know it.
Really? Putting Spike and Viacome out of business for MMA and forcing a steady 750k on friday night to watch the only major MMA in town has no value? Ok Dnuh
Zuffa benefits more by having mma on spike. It's free advertising for the UFC. Anybody who becomes a fan of mma through spike will eventually find the UFC.

Wishful thinking
Do you even think before you write replies on here?
Please explain how what he wrote does not make sense.
It would be like me finding the UFL (when it was around) on TV and becoming a fan. Obviously, that would translate into me loving football and then I would start watching the NFL.
How many fans do you honestly think Bellator has that do not watch the UFC? Of those fans, how many do you think will stay that way and never watch UFC while continuing to watch Bellator?
