That's not what I consider lay and pray. He actually cut Jan . Was passing , trying to get an arm triangle. Not what I expected but not lay and pray in my opinion. If you can take a guy down like that then do it though .

With the ring rust and coming off of losses he didn't have his usual movement on the feet. There was flash of it in the third but ended up with the TD. He was plenty busy on the ground imo. It was not the best version of Gus but still a dominant performance, I'm hoping it's just what he needed to get his mojo back.

He threw a lot of insignificant blows... from guard...without an attempt to pass or throw hard.

Wasn't really lay n pray, it was boring tho. And like another poster said Gus is not #2.
I didn't like the fight, but I don't blame Gus. I blame the other guy for not even attempting to get up and giving up the takedown so easily.
He tried to pass several times, landed a lot of blows from the top, and stood with him several times. Fickle shits. Hit the guy with a monster straight right and the guy wasnt phased at all.
It's a shame how quickly tides turn against fighters. Not every fight is gonna be insane and some of these guys actually fight with a brain meaning when they need a win, their gonna do what they can to get one.
Same with Rory Mac. That dude has been in some of most exciting fights to date! However, he gets starched on here when he wins/loses with tactics and isnt fighting a risky bloody dangerous battle.

Gus fought smart. His opponent was dangerous on the feet and he took him down. And what he did was not lay and pray. At all.
I think some people just want all fights to be the same. This is why it's called mixed martial arts. If Blachowicz wanted up he should have figured out a way to get up. That's the fight. Figure out how to win. That's what Gus did.
