“I haven’t performed my best in the last year and a half, and, therefore, they gotta kick me out to make room for the guys that are performing their best,” he said. “I don’t hold anything against the UFC. I’m still friends with [UFC President] Dana [White] and [matchmaker] Joe Silva and all those guys. It was business. It wasn’t personal at all.”

When Davis does return to the cage, he plans on remaining at 155 pounds for the foreseeable future. While fighting at 170, Davis said he would often endure as much as a 45-pound cut to make weight. The cut to 155 will be much less grueling from what he said is his current weight of 180 pounds.

“I’m not actually entertaining any offers at 70,” he said. “[Lightweight] is honestly where I should have been my entire career, and that’s where I’m gonna be. Right now, it’s not difficult for me maintaining and staying close to that weight.”

Why is this still news, he keeps talking about his walking papers every week that goes by from the very first time it occurred.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the person conducting the interview.

Am I the only one a little baffled by the statement that 155 is an easier cut than 170 because he has to cut less weight?

Until the next week...

He walks around at 165 lbs now its easier to cut 10lbs of weight down to 155 lb than to bulk up to around 185 lb so he can then cut down to 170 lb.

The bulking up and cutting causes more stress on the body then a merely a small weight cut from his walking around weight.
superCalo = smarter than orcus....

I like Davis. Didnt he win FOTN a couple fights ago? And the early head clash that opened up that fight dictating cut against Nate was a bad break. People hear ate too hard on him. Phone Post

Davis is a warrior!

So for 155 he's starting at 180 (cutting 25 lbs)??? - Believeable I suppose. Sherk does it.

But he "cut" 45 lbs to make 170? Starting his camp at 215?? WTF? lol That doesn't seem right. That means he was cutting as much as Rampage...
