This is either going to be one of the greatest games of all time or the greatest gaming disappointment ever for me.
DX was a special, special game that I will always hold close to my heart.
Here's to hoping they don't fuck it up.

HOLY SHIT @ THAT TRAILER.
^I know, right? Best trailer I've seen in YEARS.
There was an interview on Gamespot with the cinematic/art director. The guy just went on and on for about 10 minutes about details he really wanted to get right and stuff, he was 100% passionate about the game. If everyone at the dev team feels the same way, get ready for the Greatest Game of All Time.
WOW.
YES YES YES!
turducken - the first game was great, but the consoleization of the gaming world turned the sequel to pure shit
I hate getting all excited for a new game, because it always disappoints. But still, I'm getting all excited for this one. Loved the original.
Plus any game that has Gordon Freeman as an art director, must be pretty good
Typical there are so many fawning responses over a 3 minute CGI cutscene with no actual gameplay content.
Can't say I'm surprised though - we truely live in an age where mediocrity is mistaken for greatness and the drooling, sheep-like masses will swallow down whatever drivel is next thrown in the trough.
PS I'm 95% certain this game is going to suck, because the hype machine is already running fullsteam even though no significant ingame content has been revealed. That is always a very bad sign.

ttt
Shit in hand, throw at own face.
Again, I never was all that impressed with Deus Ex...
I think that the combat felt detached and almost hacked into the game rather than the integral and well balanced part of the game it needed to be.
System Shock 2 was superior to it in every way.
Next generation on the current hardware? If it steals your imagination you are sold regardless of the resolution. I have reserved hours of my time based on the preview alone (possibly stupid). As strange as it sounds the game looks to have a message and integrity.
Also, I want this jacket.

I suspect most people are getting excited because it is Deus Ex 3, and they loved the first one. There are a couple of subtle clues in the posts of people who said they are excited
"DX was a special, special game that I will always hold close to my heart"
"the first game was great"
"Loved the original."

More previews and it look like it's going to be good!
And that - somewhat early on in what will be a glowing preview of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, by the way - is the message I want to convey. This is, recognisably and joyfully, a true Deus Ex game - we can stop worrying and start tentative negotiation with the hype train.
When you see the game in motion you find yourself breathing sigh of relief after sigh of relief at the tiniest of things - from the way the screen looks after you've hacked a computer and are fiddling with security feeds, to the way a strength augmentation will let you pick up boxes that are in your path.
