While Floyd Mayweather Jr is self-managed, his receives trusted advice from Al Haymon, 2005 winner of the Boxing Writers Association of America Manager of the Year award. In a recent interview with FightHype, Mayweather revealed that the duo want to move into the promotion of MMA fighters.

"I want to promote MMA fighters also," said Mayweather. "We looking to promote MMA fighters, so it's the first time you're hearing it on FightHype... You know, Al Haymon is looking to manage MMA fighters. Even though Al Haymon hasn't came on record and said it, but I want Al to manage MMA fighters. I think I can take it to the next level... You know, I don't mind doing business with Dana White. Dana White's a cool guy. I've been knowing Dana before he got involved with the MMA."
For his part, White thinks that would be cool.
“I’ve been here for 13 years, man, and I’ve seen every manager, would-be promoter, whatever, come and go," said White on Monday. "But at the end of the day, when somebody’s contract is up, we negotiate with somebody. It doesn’t matter who it is, we’re gonna negotiate with somebody."
“That’s never going to change. It’s always going to be that way. Contracts end and you go into negotiations with whoever it is that’s handling their deal. And for guys like Floyd and his whole team over there to be saying they’re interested in managing fighters and getting involved in MMA, I don’t see how that’s a bad thing. It’s a good thing, it’s a positive thing.”
However, White replied in the negative when asked if he had had any discussions with Mayweather to date.
“I haven’t,” said White . “I mean, what would we talk about? He’s either going to get some fighters, and I’m sure we’ll talk then when he does, or he won’t.”
