While Floyd Mayweather Jr is self-managed, his receives trusted advice from Al Haymon, 2005 winner of the Boxing Writers Association of America Manager of the Year award. In a recent interview with FightHype, Mayweather revealed that the duo want to move into the promotion of MMA fighters.

"I want to promote MMA fighters also," said Mayweather. "We looking to promote MMA fighters, so it's the first time you're hearing it on FightHype... You know, Al Haymon is looking to manage MMA fighters. Even though Al Haymon hasn't came on record and said it, but I want Al to manage MMA fighters. I think I can take it to the next level... You know, I don't mind doing business with Dana White. Dana White's a cool guy. I've been knowing Dana before he got involved with the MMA."

For his part, White thinks that would be cool.

“I’ve been here for 13 years, man, and I’ve seen every manager, would-be promoter, whatever, come and go," said White on Monday. "But at the end of the day, when somebody’s contract is up, we negotiate with somebody. It doesn’t matter who it is, we’re gonna negotiate with somebody."

“That’s never going to change. It’s always going to be that way. Contracts end and you go into negotiations with whoever it is that’s handling their deal. And for guys like Floyd and his whole team over there to be saying they’re interested in managing fighters and getting involved in MMA, I don’t see how that’s a bad thing. It’s a good thing, it’s a positive thing.”

However, White replied in the negative when asked if he had had any discussions with Mayweather to date.

“I haven’t,” said White . “I mean, what would we talk about? He’s either going to get some fighters, and I’m sure we’ll talk then when he does, or he won’t.”

KOdClowning - Floyd doesn't want to MANAGE fighters ... He wants to PROMOTE fighters!

Dana, is you really dis dense?

This is = to , Dana, " A Culinary Union would be great for the food workers at the UFC fights. I support a Culinary Union.

Floyd doesn't know what he wants to do. He just repeats things that people around him say. Mayweather doesn't know anything about promoting or business in general. Golden Boy is his promoter, Al Heyman is his manager. The people around him pretend he's running the show because you want to keep the talent happy.

Floyd really dropped the ball by reneging on his deal with 50 Cent. 50 Cent's idea for TMT was to use the interest in Floyd to create a UFC type boxing promotion. As a huge boxing fan, I really was hoping he pulled it off. There is a lot huge amount of talent in boxing that nobody knows about.
