DFW hate for AO is too much

Darth BLAF -
lesforpres - I do think dana's hate towards overeem is a little unfounded. What is reallly funny, is that if alistair came to the UFC dana would say "this is guy is a F******* K1 world champion!" But since he is in strikeforce, dana pretends he sucks. Dana secretly wants alistair u can tell.

No, actually, Alistair Overeem was begging The Dana for a shot in the UFC a few years ago, wanting a fight with Tito and someone else I can't remember right now and The Dana told him to go fuck off and prove you can beat someone in this sport who's better than Batman Bencic before you ask for a shot in the UFC.

So Overeem ended up in Strikeforce.

Yeah, and had Overeem beating the same guys that JDS has (but in Strikeforce), there would still be hate from DFW and many other dipshit fans. Unless you fight in the UFC, you must suck according to them.

Another case in point will be Gerald Harris. Now he sucks. Idiots.

Dana clearly likes Overeem and would bring him over if it weren't for the good thing that AO has going on in K1 and Strikeforce, and clearly some fighters prefer to fight in front of respectful crowds who revere the sport and not meathead faggots who boo every takedown and treat every match like a back-alley pitfight.

The UFC's heavyweights are not the best the world has to offer, AO shouldn't fix what isn't broken

Yamie Jagerbomb - What nobody seemed to have answered is how the fuck JDS is a legit #2... who the fuck has he beaten to deserve that ranking? Struve will be top 10 one day, Yvel needs to quit, Gonzaga considering retirement, and Nelson isn't top 10 either.

How the fuck does he "deserve" a title shot? Shouldn't he have to fight Brock, Carwin or Mir first (legit top 10 fighters?). For those that will say he beat Werdum, using DFW's logic, Werdum ain't shit. <----again that's DFW's logic

So, DFW is letting a fighter fight for the title that has only beat up non top-10 fighters, except for Werdum. But then dipshits will go on to say Werdum sucks cuz he's a UFC dropout. Idiots.

p.s. this 10'er has been watching UFC since UFC 1. Watched on PPV and then followed during dark ages by renting video tapes and watching shit online.

Quit changing subject. Don't need to prove anything more to you. Move on little man. Nothing here for you to see.

You have to just ignore dana when he shit talked fighters outside the UFC. If Ubereem signed with the UFC he would get an immediate title shot and dana would be short stroking over how he is the greatest striker the heavyweight division had ever seen. Since he's not then obviously even guys like Stefan Struve would pick Ubereem apart, according to dana at least.

dont get mad cause i answered the obvious question. backlogging TUF 1-11 doesn't excuse the fact that you never saw MMA before this year and are yet attempting to comment.

Localcup thank you for knowing what the hell you're talking about. IMO the top heavyweights are Reem, Fedor, Cain, and Silva. Phone Post

Some of you guys continue to misrepresent Mr Dana White's comment.s  He did not say that Overeem is not good or that he isn't a great striker.  What he said is that the does not deserve a top 10 ranking.  I disagree.  I believe Overeem should be in right at about 10 or so, but it certainly isn't out of left field that Mr. White thinks otherwise.  We've gone over this topic before and the consensus is that Overeem is right on the bubble of being ranked top 10.  So Mr. White sees him out of the top 10, how exactly does that mean that he thinks he would lose to Struve or any other heavyweight in the world?  That's not something that I've seen him comment on.  Are you guys just being intentionally obtuse for the sake of attacking Mr. Dana White?

Hiro Protagonist -
Mix6APlix -  Overeem will never pass a piss test, so your point is moot. All he can do is kickbox in nations that don't test. Phone Post

Never?  He passed his piss test against Rogers in May 2010.  So, you're wrong.
Wrong on multiple levels.  "All he can do is kickbox"?  Really?  33 wins, 19 by submission, 13 by TKO.  That would make some believe he's more of a ground guy than a striker.  Don't let the recent K1 success fool you.  Allistair is well rounded.

JimmersonzGlove -  Danas opinion of the top 10 means nothing when it comes to dudes getting title shots in his own org. Who did Dan Hardy beat in the top 10 to get his title shot? Who did Kenny Florian beat in the top 10 to get either of his title shots? Pettis is another guy getting a title shot with no top 10 wins. This isnt even bringing up Randy Couture's mystery title shots.

You don't need to be in the top 10 in order to get title shots.  You need to be next in line or a draw.  This isn't even what the topic is about.  Dana didn't say that Overeem didn't deserve his Strike Force belt.  He said that based on his resume, he should not be in the top 10.  If he were to beat some one that is ranked, that would bring him into the ranking picture.  That is what Dana White said.  Hardy got a shot because he won some fights and has a huge British following, and rightfully so.  Not because he's in the top 10.  What if there were no top 10 ranked fighters in the division, does that mean that GSP wouldn't defend his belt because some guy on a message board only wants top 10 ranked guys getting title shots?  Lets not be silly.  Who ever the next guy in line is gets the shot or in some cases, if the individual has some wins and a big following that a fight can be sold to.  This isn't new, it's always been this way.
