UFC President Dana White, took stage at the UFC 139 Post-Fight Press conference, and answered questions about where Hendo vs. Shogun placed in the all time great list, and whether that fight should have been on UFC on FOX instead of JDS vs. Velasquez.

Dana White says the main event was one of the top three fights ever in MMA history. He called it "our Ali/Frasier III.
Dana White said Dan Henderson could go for the title at 185 or 205 but doesn't quite commit to Henderson being the next #1 contender at light heavyweight.
White says a lot can happen at light heavyweight with regards to Dan Henderson and leaves it open if Henderson or Evans could get the next shot at the belt.
Dana White says regarding the critics of the Fox fight that it was better things go for the way things would have gone. White says if things were reversed and had this fight tonight been the main fight on Fox there would probably have been trouble behind the scenes. White goes on to talk about how they are still in a bubble and re-education period for MMA at this point.
White says the best way to educate fans is through the new platform on Fox. White says the UFC will double the Spike TV numbers for The Ultimate Fighter when they move to FX.
Easy... I Gave Hendo Rounds 1, 2 & 3 and Shogun 4 & 5
Both fighters won 10-8 rounds imo but I gave Hendo round 3. Some disagree but I don't see shogun doing any damage or at least enough to take the round.
UFC President Dana White, took stage at the UFC 139 Post-Fight Press conference, and answered questions about where Hendo vs. Shogun placed in the all time great list, and whether that fight should have been on UFC on FOX instead of JDS vs. Velasquez.Later, White took to Twitter, and declared that in his estimation, the fight was a draw.
If Rd 5 wasn't a 10-8 round then idk what is..Hendo spent 4 1/2 minutes on his back with no answer or escape...#47-47
I'd say it was an awesome fight, and as far as relevance goes, legends fighting legends, in the sport's history very, very important but I wouldn't call it one of the best MMA fights we've seen. There were a lot of holy shit moments, but there's been far more wild.
in a matter of importance and bringing in fans, it might be inpossible to pull off what griffen/bonner did, had this been on FOX then this would show two bad asses slugging it out in a much more technical fight that G/B.
IMO this was number 1 in excitement, but goes second to G/B in the case of bringing the sport to a new light.
i wish they would do this as a re run on FOX on friday or something, all i could thin is OMG why wasnt THIS on fox?!?!
Irule - Easily the best fight I've ever seen. I would have scored it a draw. Round three wasn't 10-8 IMO due to Shogun mounting some pretty good offense himself.
Absolutely positively correct. 10-8 rounds are reserved for complete dominance on the part of one fighter with no effective offence at all from the other.
It amazes me that people don't understand how this works.
One of the most entertaining in recent memory but not top 3. Tops 20 perhaps. I have a hard time calling a fight "best ever" that does not include a finish.
