There were whispers that the prospect was the next big thing. The best fighter in the gym took him under his wing. And eventually the two fight for the world championship.

It happened in the main event Saturday night. Is it going to happen before too long with Georges St-Pierre and Rory MacDonald?

Its a sport they signed up for, they are fighters. Its GSPs job to fight the best challengers his employer (Dana) can put in front of him. He doesnt get to pick who he fights.

Rory would manhandle the other Diaz brother as well.

Training with GSP, Rory will have an edge against Koscheck.

1/2 of Rory's victories are from KO's or TKO's. His striking is good.

nakedrearnaked - KOS would beat Rory, Rory controls with his wrestling when he doesn't like how the stand up is going his stand up is pretty good but not great and he doesn't like getting hit or at least doesn't look comfortable getting hit and KOS throws bombs and won't be controlled by his wrestling. GSP beat KOS with the jab and superior boxing. Kos is a bad match up for Rory. I say Rory loses 8-10 times against KOS.



Not sure if trolling. Rory's stand-up is sick, far superior to Kos. Mike Pierce's stand-up looked better than Kos. Kos throws a telegraphed overhand right, that's about it. Rory would absolutely light Kos up on the feet.

I think it makes for a boring fight for the simple fact that both guys don't want to really fight each other. You'll see Georges moving up fighting silva and retiring before you see these two fight. Thats a more interesting route anyways.

WHY? He is a promoter, who needs to promote his fights. Creating drama helps sell fights. It is not different than other sports using "story lines" to sell the matchups.

Its a sport they signed up for, they are fighters. Its GSPs job to fight the best challengers his employer (Dana) can put in front of him. He doesnt get to pick who he fights.

He's gotta sign the bout agreement to make the fight happen, no he can't "pick" his opponent, but surely can choose not to sign the bout agreement.

Personally, unless it's a title fight, I'd rather not see teammates fight. In most cases the fights will become super technical and slow paced as the two guys are so familiar with each others style. IMO Phone Post
