Belal is kind of in that Jon Fitch positionâŠgreat win streak, but not appealing to the fans even through that greatness.
The whole rankings thing has never really mattered. Itâs pretty much for show and to sound compelling when Buffer is announcing someone as the 4th best in the world.
Belal is just not very marketable. Heâs not really exciting in or out of the cage.
Seems like a good dude, but there is a reason he was passed over. Itâs all about what will sell.
It may not be right or fair, but being Colby next makes sense.

Colby is legit as a contender but it would have way more fair if he got the title shot with just one more win. Just one. But it will sell.

No I think its a factor of things. Belal has no big wins, Maia/Wonderboy are 50, Brady is newer so we have a lot of questions around him. The Leon thing, which was his biggest test to date, he looked pretty damn bad in.
Belal is fairly boring on the mic and in the cage. Colby still out views Leon (UKs ONLY Champ at the moment).
From a business stand point it makes sense. From a pure sports aspect, Belal, Burns (provided he beats Mas) make more sense. But Im not mad at the Colby thing.
